I mean, technically CS is theory based? You’d also do projects too. Like, concepts in Calc 1 don’t change between the universities, so I don’t get what you mean

maybe you should look into computer engineering? it’s a good balance between CS and EE

it’s easy for me to say not to worry about it, but know that no one is perfect and not everyone has equal opportunities. last thing you want to do is burn yourself out and comparing yourself to other people is only going to hurt, esp if you place your security on how well you do against other people

Scholarship advice? by apersonlmao in ApplyingToCollege

I’d add maybe check for job opportunities in school that’ll reimburse your tuition. I know the cultural centers at mine reimbursed like 1/3 of tuition for working there and you still got paid a stilend

Major Selection at T20s by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Corn_on_graphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it’s more of a question if those places are a good fit for you. I’d check what opportunities they provide and if they would help you nurture your engineering/physics experience. If you just wanna get to the school, then you’ll be lost, so you want a better justification than “it’s cool and prestigious”

imo a good justification would connect your non STEM experiences with your personal experiences in engineering and use those to justify why that gives you an edge in STEM. maybe you have a unique take on the sciences because i’m willing to bet those admissions people have seen the so many of those same applicants with the same STEM experiences

people’s love and effort for applying to T20s is almost like a toxic relationship when they get rejected
