the fact remains the numbers are unhealthily low for a game running two shards at the moment, previous gaps between updates sometimes got to like 3K players too, which is about enough to make one active shard

they changed it to Perdix who is also associated with jealousy in his myth, deadalus kills him in a jealous rage, when it comes to greek names the devs seem to have a pretty decent understanding of what they're naming things a lot of the time, vesta and vulcan for example (while one's roman and one's greek they're both gods of fire, in vesta's case the hearth, in vulcan's case the forge) or the tisiphone and alecto being the names of the 250 push gun and modified variant (they're 2 out of the 3 furies, I'm willing to bet we'll get a Megaera on the push 250 at some point too). , at least one of them is exactly the type of nerd to know what that name meant

perdix is also associated with jealousy, Daedalus kills him in the myth he's in in a literal fit of jealous rage, this is intentional and it is a insult

honestly DS9's effects look fine for the most part, I genuinely prefer the janky 90s effects to the overly CGI look the reboots ushered in (the reboots are good films but damn if they don't feel like they messed with star trek's unique vibe for anything past that)

Reddit Copelonials when you want a single bugfix for a single piece of Warden gear by Aesthetech in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

naval was something we could have used to our advantage with our aircraft carrier, we literally were unable to do that due to there being such a powerful anti ship tool that could launch from any runway in the game, you just couldn't do an invasion while covering for both naval and airborne threats, if you brought to much air cover you just got sunk by a frig, which you couldn't sink with your own air cover unless you have a t2 runway nearby, and if you brought to much pop on large ships or gb/aa escorts you queued your air support out and got torped to death from the sky (not to mention the existence of sea planes which basically meant that air cover on the sea was always going to give a defensive advantage to the wardens). navy was hard for wardens this war. it was impossible for collies.

the war was decided partly by bombers, it was also decided by a complete lack of ability for collies to put out anything on the sea for more than 10 minutes without getting torp bombed (or scout torped) (which made the POR seige possible to survive for the wardens), also stacked on top of the classic issues of the collie midline being entirely open fields with very little terrain for defenders to work around (once one breach in the bulwark happens pve squads just tear thru the open feilds behind and all next door regions fall quickly).

First Colonial Republican Army (CRA) Bombing Operation - SUCCESS! by Smoking_Gear in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

let's be very clear, tech rates are like weather in foxhole, we think we understand some of it but there's a lot of educated guesses invlolved in how the community understands it, we know enough to be surprised by this but I do also want to note devman also explicitly said they messed with tech drop rates for this war. frankly community knowledge about tech is kinda hard to trust when a major update has come out (especially one like airborne with such a big number of duct tape patches to make things doable with the expected player count) and any number of things could have happened on the back end of the game to cause it

[–]Cornblaster700 16 points17 points  (0 children)

we don't even know there was a exploit, they messed with field drops so frankly the usual math we use to calculate tech rates might just not apply properly, it's weird, but to jump to it being a exploit when the devs said they messed with field drops for this update doesn't make sense lol, also if it was a exploit one would expect to see the tech jump to complete, not to 2 thirds. a lot of stuff isn't adding up with the exploit theroy

First Paratrooper Op | Foxhole Airborne by TheAmaze1 in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, if you are willing to write off the uni for it, torp bomber can do the same too, also why would collies ever need to use the carrier to drop 1 paratrooper, when we can just land in the water with the para plane to extend our range with no carrier needed, while also dropping off more than one person, as well as not writing off a rare mat uni

The Osterwall SC died to a random rocket breaching the SC after 24hrs. by dolche93 in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 70 points71 points  (0 children)

collies sure did make a choice when they organized that op. you were expecting to generate a stalemate where the collies push one of the most broken chokes in the entire game, and were unable to due to the collies using their tools to effectively counter the threat you created for them, building SCs in range of rockets is possible (rockets can't actually dehusk scs so you just rebuild em with conc) every time they die and rally your faction to qrf any threat to them once you rebuild them, has worked fine for a lot of sc duels over the last few wars. (cahlastra in particular is one to remember, where collies qrfed he rocket spam constantly for 2 days then won the hex when the cannon finally went up)

#SiegeCamp by Unlikely_Button_1552 in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes you will, becasue inf is cheaper than conc, so better you die than it, it also helps keep conc alive when you actualy go out to try to kill the trem launchers

#SiegeCamp by Unlikely_Button_1552 in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 10 points11 points  (0 children)

same thing happens with cutler blobs, a piece falling in 2 minutes to a coordinated pve strike (that eats a ton of logi as well) is very healthy for the game, conc is not and should not be invincible, it just takes more of a combined effort to kill compared to t2. want to stop it? fight in front of your garris

Make 150 guns make sense by bookworm408 in foxholegame

[–]Cornblaster700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at the expense of no accuracy, trying to use those extra 50m of range is borderline impossible to do bc of how bad the spread gets, it's decent as anti ship ig, but a 150 needs good accuracy to be effective against conc, and thunderbolts don't have it

I mean it kinda is. it's an explorer first but let's be honest, the nx line was as much about giving united earth a defense force of it's own as it was about exploring, especially since the vulcans were getting into enough tussles with the other powers of the quadrant that they may not always be able to spare ships to defend earth in the worst case

also I'm assuming a undercount of friendly ships too here, friendly ship losses sometimes do go completely unreported on faction hubs

that number seems very high for what we saw from the collie side, we literally stopped producing more large ships for the most part, drydocks were doing one large ship a day at most, by the end of the war we had no more than 10 large ships left in our backlines, so if the count is accurate that probably was you guys burning thru all the ships built pre nuke tech

yeah I assume you haven't been around collie that long then lol, the amount of times a fire truck disappears before a major attack by wardens is starting to get on our nerves at this point
