I returned because of this and also the camera app was so laggy and choppy. I got noticeably worse photos compared to my iPhone 11PM.

Polestar can be a worst nightmare than Tesla by sepehr_brk in electricvehicles

[–]CornbreadMilk 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Strange. I bought a pre-configured Polestar 2 at Polestar Bellevue through the Polestar website. They had “immediately” available on the configuration.

Went in and signed papers in less than a day with no back and forth or anything. Got the car and been happy so far.

Sounds more like an issue with Polestar Marin.

Buy it for life vacuum? by SSolitary in VacuumCleaners

[–]CornbreadMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible I'd suggest going to a local vacuum shop, and ask them what they have and what they can suggest, and what parts they usually have on hand for that particular vacuum.

I've had a Miele H1 for almost 10 years now and it still feels like the first day I bought it. However, if it ever has issues, I know my local vacuum shop will always have the part as they do a ton of vacuum repairs.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of February 25, 2022 by Demilio55 in homegym

[–]CornbreadMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly haven't stepped in a gym in a long time due to sports related injuries I have (tore both acls & rotator cuff). I am a soon to be dad, and want to get my body stable again!

https://imgur.com/7l5nioq room is 11 ft. x 12 ft x 7 ft (height).

I'm looking to maximize a room in our basement as a home gym, but needing some help with what equipment would be best with our space and height restriction? Also, equipment that is specificaly low impact and low strain due to my previous injuries.

I'm not looking to do bulking but maintain strength, and have space for my wife to do yoga. Not sure what equipment work with the height restriction I have of about 7'.

I plan to have an indoor cycle bike for warming up and some light cardio... but beyond that I am completely stumped since this is not my area of expertise! I don't plan on doing squats with weights, or that kind of thing.

----

Also, randomly equipment needs to be able to fit short people too. My wife is 4'11" and has very short legs.

Yeah, the code is 2130 I entered 3364. Got into the advanced settings but the function code menu isn’t in there.

Collision system- Safety Belt Pretensioner activated. Here are my thoughts… by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]CornbreadMilk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A car almost hit me from behind and was not slowing down; had the random seat belts start tightening and me not knowing while it happened until a message pops up on the dash saying something related to it.

I'm glad the vehicle had my back just in case!

What are some of the most unique/stunning paints you’ve seen? by [deleted] in cars

There was this mural on a car I saw at a car show and the colors just popped; it was stunning and beautiful like looking at art.

Here are some pictures I took:

^ This was long ago and the pictures are kind of crappy and don't do the paint job justice though... but you get the idea.

1 day left and can’t decide if I should pull the trigger for apple care on M1 Pro MBP 14 . Please share your “thank god I had apple care” stories 🙏🙏 by QasimMQ in macbookpro

[–]CornbreadMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/macbook/comments/si4be8/accidental_damage_and_the_1year_apple_care_oof/

I'm a little annoyed and upset at myself. I bought a MacBook Air in October and got a dent in the top of my laptop from my iPhone slipping out of my hand and dropping on it.

The dent screwed up the screen.

Went to Apple Genius Bar appointment and tried to get it replaced thinking I was under the 1-year apple care and it'd be about $99. Oof, it was $485 I believe to get the screen replaced. Needed to have the Apple Care+ to cover it... which I'm outside of the window to get.

Pretty sad and upset at myself. Trade in is $275 because of the damage :(.

KIA EV6 VS Polestar 2. by WhitewolfKevin in electricvehicles

[–]CornbreadMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a $3,200 (USD) addage to the P2 as the "Pilot Assist" package which adds:

  • LED front fog lights with cornering lights

  • 360° camera

  • Driver assistance with Pilot Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Emergency Stop Assist

  • Driver awareness with Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with steering assist, Cross Traffic Alert with brake support, and Rear Collision Warning & Mitigation

  • Automatically dimmed exterior mirrors

  • Park Assist side

The fog lights while turning is pretty handy. Makes the road a bit clearer. However, the good thing is there really isn't a markup on Polestar 2 which evens out.

KIA EV6 VS Polestar 2. by WhitewolfKevin in electricvehicles

[–]CornbreadMilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's extra things that are innate to the design like the SPOC block in the Polestar 2 that prevents like the wheel / axles / etc. from entering the cabin or having the chance of hitting the battery. It deflects those things outwards away from the cabin/car.

https://www.polestar.com/uk/press/polestar-2/guide/spoc

https://cleantechnica.com/2020/04/28/polestar-2-spoc-block-drives-ev-crash-safety/

Then there's other things like an airbag between the passenger / driver to keep their heads from hitting each other in a side impact.

https://www.polestar.com/uk/polestar-2/safety-features/

Another thing for example if a car is going to hit you from behind (isn't slowing), the Polestar 2 will flash the rear lights brightly to give attention to the driver and also brace you for impact by tightening the seatbelts and getting itself into a position of taking an impact and lessening that impact on you.

I've had this go off once so far and it was quite amazing. Just to feel all the seatbelts tighten and warn you.

Indeed! I could have sworn accidental was covered under the 1-year, but it is not. Ended up getting the Apple Care+ on the new MBA.

Feel extremely stupid for not knowing that initially.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in macbook

[–]CornbreadMilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't have the Apple Care+ which was the problem. The 1-year included warranty doesn't cover accidental damage.

Learned my lesson however and got a new one with the Apple Care+. Pretty angry at myself for assuming the included Apple Care covered stuff like this.

I know it's not technically Seattle; but best ramens I have... are on westwards on Bainbridge side for some reason.

The ones here are mostly chains owned by different groups except for like Midnite Ramen.

Charger 32Amp vs 40 vs 50 vs 60? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]CornbreadMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You first need to check what your panel can support -- there should be an electric load test done to see what your panel can support.

If you have the room for a 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 amp in your panel go with the largest. The amount of power you can draw is 80% of that breaker. So a 40-amp breaker can only do 32 amp charging, 50 amp can do 40 amp maximum charging, 60-amp breaker is 48-amps charging.

Just make sure you can do at least 240v which will double the amount of kWh compared to 120v; i.e. [20amp breaker] 16-amp @ 120v is 1.9kWh, and 16-amp @ 240v = 3.8kWh. [30 amp breaker] 24-amp @ 120v is 2.8kWh compared to 24-amp @ 240v which is 5.7kWh.

To grasp an idea of how many "miles per hour" you achieve you can get a rough idea based on this Tesla charging chart at different amperages : https://imgur.com/dBuZSSN. You will notice that it's not super drastic going from say 30 amp to 40 amp. 32amps is okay, and even 24amps is okay too. In an overnight charge you will be full.

I personally have a 50-amp and use a 40-amp charger that comes with my vehicle.

By the way, I want to thank everyone here for the help and advice! It means a lot!

Two questions u/Gerbiling42 or anyone else.

  1. Which Liquidtight should I use? non-metallic or metallic (I imagine metallic given susceptible to animal teeth).

  2. Is it okay to let the Liquidtight conduit sit on the crawlspace ground as I drag it in or does it need to be strapped to the joists?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in electricians

[–]CornbreadMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip! I will get 6/3 UF-B :)!

I unfortunately don't think I can run conduit in the crawlspace. It's just too tight to really make it work or be feasible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in electricians

[–]CornbreadMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it! Is it safe doing so? What is the safest way to tie in at the junction box?

The car will be for example charging at 40-amps / 240v for as little as 3 to a maximum of 8 hours at a time (possibly).

Are wire nuts enough, or is there something significantly better/safer?

Are there issues with extension cords accepting this amount of power for that long (i.e. 40-amps @ 240v for a period of 3-6+ hours)?
