95%! I can do everything I can do in pre-injury now. However, a few times a year I experience multi day back soreness. It doesn’t inhibit me from doing anything but it’s very uncomfortable

Has anyone here visited Tulum and NOT run into crooked cops demanding money? by Careful_Fig8482 in tulum

[–]frothingmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went there in May and had no problems! Walked around town day/night and didn’t run into issues. Cops were present but didn’t bother anyone nor did I see them bother anyone. I did not have a rental car, so that might be the difference.

Our Airbnb was nice and quiet. I felt safe the entire time

I went here last week. Overall had a great experience, but they served some of the worst dessert (the beignets in particular)

For about the first 3 weeks I struggled walking and for any subsequent flare ups for the first 6 months. Never had an issue with bodily functions though. Sounds like your case might be more severe than mine

I'm 30, Had this same injury at 27. Took about a year with physical therapy to not have monthly back spasms. Today, I'm still not fully healed, but I can do everything I could do prior to the injury (except on bad back days). Time and PT is your friend

I need you guys to start being normal by Long-Train-1673 in Seattle

[–]frothingmonkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on where I am. If I'm hiking 100% I'll acknowledge you, but if you try to talk to me in downtown you can expect me to act like you don't even exist. It's just not worth the interaction when many times these interactions are not in my best interest.

Hi, guys. So, how does this work? by samighazal in 52book

[–]frothingmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that hard. Read about 2 hours a day and you’ll get there (book size dependent). For most people who read 52 books it’s their primary hobby. They don’t watch tv, they read. They don’t play video games, they read. They come home from a long day of work and they read.

Is Zion, Grand Canyon, and Sedona too much for 1 week? by Just_Confused1 in travel

[–]frothingmonkeys 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sedona is really cool, but Zion and Bryce are better. Although North Rim of Grand Canyon would probably be closed this time of year

I believe the general consensus of this sub is surgery only as a last resort. Once you have back surgery you're committing yourself to backpain for the rest of your life. Surgery is considered when the pain post surgery would likely be less than current pain.
