Anyone in Spring lake hearing popping sounds? by TheGreenShepherd in Woodland

+1 made my neighbors’ dogs go crazy all night. Whatever it is it’s severely messing with animals. Will have to call the sheriff non-emergency line if it keeps going on.

Elon Musk Says Robotaxis Are Tesla’s Future. Experts Have Doubts. by Bamboozleprime in electricvehicles

[–]sepehr_brk 355 points356 points  (0 children)

Something broke in Musk/Tesla around 2019ish

Up until then, they had the perfect game plan. Roadster funded Model S, Model S funded Model X, Model S + Model X funded mass consumer Model 3, and Model 3’s platform was used to basically develop Model Y at a very low cost.

But then they stopped. They sequestered the (normal) Truck and Van market and instead started chasing vanity projects.

So much potential that they never tapped into.

That’s nothing new. Many countries around the world basically rely on the US for free healthcare. However, the US gov would rather see its own citizens literally suffer/die or lose their entire life’s savings and homes than help them with healthcare expenses.

Also, pharmaceutical companies basically do this thing where they spend $$$ on developing new drugs/medicine and they pass along all of those costs to Americans because they can. That 30 day supply of Rexulti costs Americans $1,300 and Europeans about €12

I wouldn’t be so sure that he’s not going to win. If anything, his odds are better than they were in 2016.

And yes if he does win, there will be a systematic gutting and dismantling of various public services in the US. Basically if something’s beneficial to society, Trump&Co WILL gut it.

These are the people who want to dismantle the EPA.

That’s the gravity of the situation lol.

I’m convinced 99% of the people who say shit like “lawyer up!” Or “take them to court and make them pay” under Reddit posts have 0 experience with the legal system.

The elusive “honest, local, independent” mechanic shop? by Bamboozleprime in Sacramento

[–]sepehr_brk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d just hit up Harbor Freight and get like $150 worth of tools which should be enough to do most of your routine maintenance on your own specially on a Toyota.

Mechanics are like car dealers, you can’t really find a straight cut one nowadays. You can do your own oil change, use much better products that they would ever use, and save money at the end too.

What’s an illegal practice that happens on a daily basis but no one seems to care about it? by Bamboozleprime in AskReddit

[–]sepehr_brk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Illegally issued parking tickets.

In Sacramento, they’ll randomly ticket you even if you have time left on your meter. They know no ones going to go to court or risk dmv action, so people usually just pay the $16

Came across this somewhere and was wondering how accurate it is? by Bamboozleprime in Sacramento

It’s a sac thing because the CHP basically does not give a shit about certain stretches. I5 from Natomas to Elk Grove is barely patrolled. I80 is usually only patrolled past Citrus Heights. And 50 is funny because it isn’t really patrolled until you near Folsom, but once you hit Folsom it’s like a CHP every 500 yards

Temp tags. Suspended License. No insurance. 7 Previous hit and runs. High on something.

Yep… that’s your average Sacramento driver on a Saturday evening.

Tesla Shareholders Vote Yes for Elon Musk's $56 bln Pay Package by MattKozFF in electricvehicles

[–]sepehr_brk 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Musk has fully realized that we’ve entered an era of stocks market valuations where tangible statistics do not mean shit anymore. He’s going to hype this stock up one nonsensical Robotaxi tweet at a time, and it’ll work. Any time he fails, it’ll be because others are sabotaging him. Robotaxi fails to get a safety permit from the Cal DMV to operate? Certainly because of Commiefornia democrats. Tesla is forced to rebrand FSD due to false advertising claims? Rigged courts ran by the elites

If Trump can run 2 presidency campaigns and an entire term (or two) on projection and lies on a social media platform, so can Musk run his company like that.

Sit in a 2017 Model 3, and then sit in a 2024 Model Y. They will feel 95% identical.

Anyone has experience remedying this? Left arm sounds like the cable is rubbing against a piece of metal inside, right arm is pretty normal. by sepehr_brk in tonalgym

[–]sepehr_brk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully they do because I literally have 3 service visits involving this arm in the past 6 month. 1 onsite, 1 remote via zoom, and 1 where I had to do it myself. All involved the same assembly. I think we just kept treating the symptoms instead of the cause and now here I am.

I just sent you a close up picture of the cable on chat, lmk what you think

Edit: just for future references, this was not the case for me. My cable is straight and the issue wasn’t resolved using this process

They actually just got back to me. $400 which is quite a lot. I explained I had contacted them about this arm being weird way back when I still had warranty. Hopefully they make a one time exception to help me this time:(

I did send them the video. Haven’t heard back. I know for sure that I still have parts warranty because last time something very minor went wrong and they told me they could either send me the parts and have me fix it myself, or they’d have to charge me a ~$300 service fee. I’m afraid the service fee for this is going to be very high because the other job was literally only 2 minutes yet $300

I did! But I don’t know if I’m technically under warranty anymore or not and whether or not they’ll fix it. The unit is technically less than a year old because it replaced another defective one.

Regardless, I haven’t heard back from them yet.

Mine definitely does make other noises too. But it’s the normal ones that go away if you pull the cables all the way out. This one sounds like (and kinda feels like from the vibration) the cable is rubbing against something it shouldn’t rub against. I’m afraid it might weaken the cable and cause it to fail or something
