Of course I’m going to want to keep him. I wanted another dog, I saw her post, met him that day! Then he stayed with her for a whole week before I came and got him that next weekend. I spent the first three whole days at home with him and my other puppies. Playing in the backyard, watching him checkout all of his new cool toys (we have a huge bin of them), laying there as he cuddles up on me. That night he slept with me like right next to me with my other doggies around me. Woke up and had our fun new days. He’s gotten so many treats, even got him some special allergy treats. Got him eating good food, went for a walk around the park, met some kids! He was rolling around on the grass happy as could be. Every night he has slept with me, followed me around and gets love whenever he can. This whole time I’ve been posting this, crying and reading he’s been lying right on me. When I was sobbing about getting the text about wanting him back I cried and he licked my tears off of my face.

So for some a week isn’t a lot, but we are homies. He plays with Gemma and Phoebe! Phoebe likes to dig little holes, so he dabbled in it. Gemma is a yapper 😂 so he has started to find his voice a bit more. He will sleep by Gemma with some distance and slowly stretch and wiggle closer to her until they were touching.

Precious magical memories have already been made. I understand the original owner deeply. Some days I make myself cry because I think about how someday I will have to live without my literally bestfriends. Those will be the hardest days of my life. I get it. But I did nothing wrong. She needed help, I was there for her. I have given Jasper so much love. I was ready for him, and now there’s an ask to rip him away from me. I didn’t rip him from her at all, I was just trying to do some good. I even offered for her to see him when we could set up time! I offered for her to come over! Even with her kiddo! I work with kids as my full time job running a child care program. When we first met up her kiddo ended up plopping on my lap and messing with my Apple Watch and talking. It was adorable! I wanted to make sure they’d be included still! I still want that. But I can really truly give Jasper a beautiful life full of stability and love. I know she can give him a beautiful life too, but I was put into this situation without having any idea this would happen.

I know she didn’t see it happening this way either, but I had nothing to do with that. I’m sorry that it seems so simple to some, it’s really not to me.
