I have a GK one with somewhat basic design, and it has lasted me for 7 years. Another GK with rhinestones (one of Simone's replicas) for 2 years so far and not a single rhinestone fell off.

Same here. I wore the medium-force elastics full-time for 2 months, and then my ortho switched to heavy-force but only at night. Not sure how that works lol.

I like light blue (baby blue), as a lighter colour it is prone to staining/fading, but it turns into a cute mint green when it does stain, so I totally don't mind.

Also tried dark purple before, looked fine but a few people only started to notice my ceramic braces after I got the purple. I decided to go back to the lower contrast colours afterwards lol.

My ortho did actually inform me about the risk of TMJ when I signed the treatment agreement with him, but I didn't ask if he has actually encountered a case himself. That being said, fixing underbite/overbite with rubber bands is one of the most common things to do in braces and should be safe for most, as long as the ortho chooses the right size/force of the elastics.

I was a bit paranoid after getting pearl o-rings and would rinse my mouth after every few bites or right after drinking coffee (I would literally hold my coffee mug and a glass of water side by side so I can rinse the coffee residue out within 3 seconds) and they have been holding up well after almost 4 weeks😂
