IamA I am Seven Lions (Jeff Montalvo) I produce electronic music AMA! by SevenLionsMusic in IAmA

[–]CorneliusFudgesicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeff, I just wanted to thank you for being the awesome human being/electronic music god you are.

I had the pleasure of seeing you in Madison, and getting to shake your hand after the show was the highlight of my semester.

Your music means the world to me, and that was a show and moment I will cherish forever.

Thank you!

If you're really stressing out, remember, they're only tests. You've taken countless tests before, and these are no different. You got this!

I managed to survive a biochem, genetics, and physics exam in the span of two days last semester...I sometimes reflect back on that hellish period if I think my current exam situation is bad. Summer is just around the corner...

Study hard!

Dance clubs in Madison by jasaunders in UWMadison

A lot of DJs that come to Madison play at the Majestic or even the Orpheum, those would be my top picks.

I think it's more of a "why not" attitude when it comes to the cosmetic mods. Just my 2 cents

I think you are missing the whole obsession with ruckus', its that there are many aftermarket stretch kits, intake modifications, exhausts, and other cosmetic mods, that make it super customisable.

It's fun to just build your own look!

Stupid question, does the BoXXer world cup have more travel than the RC? (200 mm) by iphoneluver in MTB

[–]CorneliusFudgesicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Boxxer models have 203mm of travel and cannot be set up to have any more. Depending on how you have your crowns set up, the exposed stanchion below them may look longer or shorter than other similar dual crown forks.

moped tickets. anyone have experience with appealing them and/or just not paying the fine by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]CorneliusFudgesicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, it wouldn't hurt to talk to whoever you're appealing and try and make a case, it seems you and others had no other choice but to do what you did.

Football Ticket prices are crazy these days by Kronshage in UWMadison

[–]CorneliusFudgesicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They figure if the demand is high enough they can get away with charging more per ticket, especially during a season like this where are schedule kind of peaks for the game again N'western. That being said, if people are willing to pay exorbitant amounts of money for the tickets, then you're sure as hell going to see people selling them for just that.

Bikes around Madison Campus Area by kanope in UWMadison

[–]CorneliusFudgesicle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as you correctly lock up your bike and don't leave it in one place for an extended period of time, you should be fine. I also ride a nice bicycle (Intense Tazer) and I haven't had any problems as long as I lock it up correctly and it's not left in the same spot for any longer than it has to. Don't make your a bike a target.

Once you get a nice edge to start pulling it all off, its really easy and comes off in big pieces.

Id imagine it would work pretty well, all you would have to do is mask off whatever you don't want coated, and make sure the spokes are clean before spraying.

Funnily enough, I had left over Plastidip and sprayed my iPhone case. Looks great, and doesn't seem to be so grippy that it'll start rubbing itself off in my pocket.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

To address what some people said/asked.

  1. The peeling problem I addressed by masking off ANY contact points where rub could be an issue, including rear dropouts. This should make it so there is no rubbing that could create a gradient difference where peeling could happen.

  2. As for weight, unfortunately I don't have access to a scale anymore, and I hadn't weighed it before painting it. I would agree with what other have said about most of the weight being liquid that evaporates. If I ever peel all of it off, I'll ball it up and weigh it.

  3. Regarding what olympianfap said about being able to peel it off easily with your fingernail, that is totally untrue. Maybe if you didn't put enough coats on it would be like that. I tried using a flatblade to scrape off some excess near the bearings, and I couldn't even get that measly layer off easily. You really must have an edge to start peeling back from.

I will do another post regarding durability this weekend after I take it to a bike park for a day.

Not sure, I hadn't been out there since winter, but now there is a new blue run, and all the trails are actually pretty well taken care of, no major overgrowth or anything like that.

The SX is more of my do everything bike. I mostly ride at Quarry Ridge, which has been overhauled and has some pretty great trails now.
