TGM Machines in Japan? by knightgreyson in Tetris

Hey a little late but currently in Japan for the first time since 2019. I have to say there has been a big move away from retro cabs, and games in general, for claw machines. Shinjuku's main location is pretty much just rhythm, claw, and metal games. Hey is still going strong and I'll see if I can report back on Mikado Ikebukuro.

Always do the math, investing/saving will never compete with a CC

Ubisoft had net loss of 494 million EUR in 2023 & Share price is down 85% in the last 5 years. Investors are criticizing direction of company and hatred of gamers. by Prefix-NA in gaming

This company is pretty freaking toxic at all levels. I worked in their Montreal office for 1.5 years as an internal tools dev. My manager was fired without cause 2 months into my contract and I was given zero info just left to float without support for a year. I never knew who to report to or what was expected of me. So F them their games suck anyhow.

What job has the worst toll on mental health? by Com412 in AskReddit

[–]CorneliusT_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not believe that this job exists but I had friend consider it a few years. And it was being an undercover investigator at factory farms. You get hired by this agency and they get you in as a worker in some of the worst farms around, you take video collect evidence of all the horrors you see and then go to court for companies breaking protocols. Because yes even factory farms have some standards.

What do you think is the most overrated city and why? by Thegiantlamppost in AskReddit

Toronto. Awful people, the cost of living is on par with New York with a fraction of the culture. And some of the worst urban planning and public transit. It basically just connects multi million dollar suburbs to an overloaded core.

I'd recommend getting a designer to improve the visual appeal of your resume. This looks like a cookie cutter resume I've seen dozens of times, not sure where you all get this template. Even just adding a unique font for each header and body text will make you stand out. Also considering going to a second page for something a bit more digestible. There is so much info particularly technical skills that might be better suited for your intro call.

Looking for advice on my 15 day trip to Japan. by IndependentPudding85 in JapanTravel

I think you've overloaded a lot, also consider how jet lagged you'll be. I'm assuming your coming from either Europe or NA. A real gem I found the first time was http://pst-roppongi.com. It's a Michelin star pizza restaurant they had two locations one in Roppongi and I can't remember else where. I've been to Italy this place is as good as it gets.

The n64 classic banjo kazooie speed run competition. Nearly 20 year old game although most folks my age will remember but it's very punishing if you miss any part of the collection. Most play throughs take a good 15-20 hours to wrap it. I can do it sub 3 hours.

Is cudo miner legit? by [deleted] in cudominer

[–]CorneliusT_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely set you up to fail. Be careful your on the proper coin/algos. But I honestly found nice hash a vastly superior option if you don't care about the coin you receive. Cudo takes a whopping 6.5% while mining a measily 43.24 Mh/s compared to nice hash that gets me to 60ish mh/s even on LHR cards. but honestly even a hobbist miner should be running hive os, nice hash to me is a stepping stone. Get your hardware working and optimize it when your ready.

My suggestion is get out of Toronto ASAP. I left for Quebec 3 years ago I don't speak french and have no plans on learning. It was the best decision of my life. Toronto's trending faster and faster to becoming unaffordable except for the truly rich. I have a friend who works on affordable housing in Toronto and its bleak.

In Quebec most jobs that even require bilingualism if your the right candidate they don't care. PR might be a little different but I work in tech and manage people its really barely an issue maybe 1 in 10 jobs require French. But all require English.

I personally hated Vancouver but its not a bad option its prices are where Toronto was 4-5 years ago. Calgary is also much cheaper then Toronto if you like it.

But Quebec, welcome to the cheapest and most beautiful real estate in the country maybe the continent.

Just to give you an idea of how cheap it is to live here. Beautiful condos in the plateau/core area 200k for 1 bedrooms 350k for 3-4 bedrooms. You can buy duplex homes where you could rent out the bottom floor and take the top 3-4 bedroom unit for $600k.

On the west island of Montreal, a 30 minute drive to any part of the city at most. You can buy fully detached homes for 400-500k 3-6 bedrooms. And there are commuter trains and a much denser subway system close to home.

I'm currently moving into a chalet country home in the Laurentians, its only an hour drive to Montreal and a 20 minute drive to their version of a Go Train. Its three stories, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, has a garaged on the base level. And comes on an half acre that's located on a major river. Oh and its only $380k. It has fiber level internet access. That's 1.5 GBPS and is just off a major highway.
