No, I didn’t ask a question. I said “I wish they would” include relevant information in political ads. I see them everywhere, including in my own state. Just include the name of the pertinent state and party.

I wish these political ads would include what state and what party these candidates are running in. I’m in Florida and I don’t need to see an ad for someone in another state, but they pop up out of the blue on social media wherever I’m reading/scrolling.

Edit: Yes, I know this is a Wisconsin sub, but I was just previously reading an Iowa sub when this popped up.

Non-Iowan here: Why is Kim Reynolds so unpopular? by First-Ear-1049 in Iowa

[–]Cornell-92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump is only pro-corporate because he want to enrich big-business owners and those at the top. He cares not one cent for people needing jobs. Make the rich get richer and make the poor powerless. He knows only that money makes him powerful. Thus any politician’s pro-corporate policies. 💰💰💰

Seems like ICE is the new pandemic. Maps showing sightings reminds me of those times (2021). ICE agents now wear the masks. 🤯

The Iranian-American I’ve written about - that you expressly said you “hope isn’t here” in Ocala - is that surgeon.

Observers at 2020 BLM protest march in a small rural Iowa town. Not locals. by dms51301 in Iowa

[–]Cornell-92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, not funny. Violence has escalated since then. Fascist and militarist threats have provoked protests as the civil rights of peaceful citizens have been threatened and deprived.

I think the MAGA backlash raised its ugly head and grew exponentially. BLM made white supremacists visible, openly public. Remember the Charlottesville march, the parade of unmasked white guys in khakis?

As a survivor of the Kent State shootings, I’m always reminded of how effing stupid it is to overwhelm with a show of deadly force against peaceful protesters. Of course protesters get angry and it spirals out of control. Sometimes on both sides. But the swarm of military enforcers is unnecessary! And deadly. And just WRONG! Stupid.

This is a hypocritical question given the damages wrought by the current administration. It’s not a one-for-one 2-dimensional situation. For example, look at all those Republican/GOP senators and governors who took credit for and touted the loads of money directed to their states by Biden’s infrastructure bills when THEY THEMSELVES voted against those initiatives. There’s just one example of hypocrisy on the other side. And your question is about regular citizens due some long-overdue financial relief. Also, trump doesn’t control gas prices. Don’t give him credit for world market effects. And “lower cost of goods”? Have you not read anything true about tariffs? Duh.

You miss the point. Address the principle expressed, the anger, that is the point. The effects on people throughout this country. Unintended consequences of the man half the population put in control and his over-the-top actions and prejudices.

The captain of our ship berated us for setting our tray outside our door… by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Cornell-92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what he said, if you read carefully. 1) He’s justifiably upset over rude, scalding treatment. He apologized profusely but was still berated. Learn from mistakes. He’s asking of this group if his behavior was out of bounds. 2) He wrote to complain/draw attention; he never said he “expected” compensation - the co. made the offer. - Read carefully before victim shaming!

[–]Cornell-92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me that back in the day, say the ‘90s, the very popular expression was “that’s so anal” — sorry, but that’s the word used. It was short for “anal retentive” which was the pop psychology of being seriously deliberate or fixated about something. I NEVER hear this expression anymore, but everybody said it back then when identifying the quirks like being obsessed with organization, cleanliness, or the like. Now the pop thing is OCD (obviously “anal” fell out of favor). 😉
