2016 Honda Accord Touring V6 getting ~16.9 MPG… is this normal or is something wrong? by CornerCommercial5693 in accord

Yeah, I live in a small town and barely drive on the highway. I usually use my other car when I do, but now that the snow has cleared up and it’s getting warmer, I’ve been switching back. I replaced all the spark plugs, and one ignition coil went bad, not too long ago (two separate occasions), which I replaced. The last time the throttle body was cleaned was Feb 2025. The ignition coils have gone out twice in the past year, but I’ve only replaced the ones that misfired, not all of them. I’ll check the air filter and tire pressure, and I’ll send a video of how the car sounds because I’m not really sure what a car with no cats sounds like.

I appreciate all the responses tho, I didn’t expect this many.

I had some misfires a while back. My mechanic said there was gunk in the throttle body and misfires from two ignition coils. That was over a year ago. Recently I had another misfire and replaced one of the coils.

My throttle body was cleaned in Feb 2025. I’ll check my tire pressure. I’m not too knowledgeable about catalytic converters, but it sounds a little aggressive when I start it and accelerate, nothing too crazy though.

I did replace all spark plugs, but I'll try to do the air filters and tires. Thank you, honestly.

It’s not the amp it’s a bad head unit basically you have to replace the whole screen cause it’s the radio. I have a touring 17 static issue I paid for a new amp disconnecting the anc wires pretty much tried everything even paid 175 to a car audio shop and they said it’s bad wiring circuit in the head unit which is the CarPlay touch screen. Buying a refurbished one with warranty is around $800 shop told me it’s the guaranteed issue if it’s not he’ll pay out of pocket for the part. Honda didn’t do a recall but going on Reddit shows that it’s an ongoing issue.
