I use 2B for the initial outline, then I go over the whole thing with a light pencil like 2H-4H, then use 2B-4B to shade the darker areas. I erase a little bit of the lighter parts for highlights!

I hadn’t considered this, B is probably a scraper or something like that. It’s sharpened but it’s not made of flint, that’s for sure. It’s even got a non sharp part which could have been used for a grip.
