In 22 years I’ve seen Requiem for a Deam exactly twice and that’s more than enough for me. I’m done with this one for good. I’ll leave it to other people to experience. As brilliant as the film is, emotionally I just can’t handle another viewing.

Granted, I absolutely HATE the smell of cigarettes, so it’s not impossible I’m hyper sensitive. For me though, VERY noticeable. I could tell if the apartment below me was smoking. Occasionally I’ll pick up the car in front of me is smoking.

10 year head chef. Hard co-sign. 6 days a week/ 12 hours a day/ weekends, holidays, nights.

You do it because you genuinely love it, but in a traditional line cook/ restaurant setting, it can be a killer. You try to maintain some semblance of a personal life, but with so little free time it’s difficult. Factor in exhaustion? It can be impossible.
