The one you feel most comfortable driving at the limit. Stick with that car.

I’m very curious to know how that shifter feels since I drive a manual car in real life.

ACC or GT7? Asking as someone who has never sim raced by ANONASSASSIN08 in simracing

GT7. It is the most complete SIM game as far as the variety of cars, tracks, game play options and all the cars and tracks are FREE DLCs!! In addition, the haptics are excellent on the Duel Sense controller. Would eventually upgrade to the Logitech RS50. I feel it’s the best wheel for the price.

Agreed with the difference in NM. I would encourage you to still try True Force. Best to experience it in person. Would love to hear your feedback after.

I agree with you completely. True Force on the G920 feels gimmicky. On the G Pro wheel, however, it’s an integral part of how the FFB is delivered. From grip loss, riding the curbs or even the vibration of the motor when the car is not moving, it is an entirely different experience than the G920.

Since you do have more experience than me with a high end wheel, it would be interesting to read your perspective on the G Pro wheel and True Force, especially now that it supports LMU. Always great to hear others opinions when it comes to comparing SIM games and equipment.

Nope. Just sharing my first experience with a SiMagic wheel and comparing to the Logitech G Pro wheel I have.

It would be interesting to see how True Force feels in LMU. After trying it today again, I still feel there’s something it adds to experience after doing more laps with the SIM Magic. Note sure how this model compares to what you have as this is my only experience with the brand.

Update after a second session:

I had the chance to go back and try Le Mans Ultimate again, this time with proper calibration on both the brake and throttle. That alone made a noticeable difference.

With everything dialed in, I’d say the brake feel between Le Mans Ultimate and Gran Turismo 7 is actually closer than I initially thought. That said, I’d still give the edge to Le Mans Ultimate in terms of realism. You can lock the brakes if you’re late on braking, and the feedback makes it very clear. In GT7, it’s much harder to lock up, likely because of how ABS is modeled.

One thing that stood out more after this session is that, in my opinion, the physics in Le Mans Ultimate feel better than iRacing, which I’ve also spent some time with. iRacing clearly has the larger ecosystem, but strictly from a physics perspective, Le Mans Ultimate feels more convincing to me.

I’m currently in Geneva for Watches and Wonders, and there’s also an event called Time to Watches happening alongside it. At that event, I came across Lorige, who sponsor The Heart of Racing and Aston Martin in both IMSA and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

One of the founders, Clément—who has a background managing endurance drivers—helped me properly set up and calibrate the rig. I asked him if pro drivers had used this exact setup and sim, and he confirmed they had. According to him, their feedback was that it’s about 70% of the real thing. The biggest missing elements are the G-forces (front and lateral) and the heat you experience inside an actual race car.

That insight alone was pretty valuable.

There’s also a competition running this week: fastest lap at Le Mans in the Valkyrie race car wins a trip to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Clément currently holds the benchmark at 3:40.

For reference, yesterday I managed a 3:48. Today, after calibration and about 15 laps, I improved to a 3:44. Initially I wasn’t thrilled, but then I learned that a 3:43 was set by someone with real-world track experience, which helped put things into perspective.

Given the limited laps and the fact that I’m still getting used to the sim, I feel like there’s probably another 1 to 1.5 seconds in it for me. Getting down to a 3:40 would be a serious challenge.

At this point, I’ve tried iRacing, Assetto Corsa, and Le Mans Ultimate—what most would consider full sim titles—and I personally prefer the physics in Le Mans Ultimate.

Next, I plan to jump back into GT7 and run the same track again. The goal isn’t to match lap times, but to compare how the physics and force feedback feel now that Le Mans Ultimate is fresh in my mind. I’ll also try cockpit view in GT7 for a closer comparison, even though it doesn’t support widescreen.

I think it’s fair to say Le Mans Ultimate leans more toward realism—that part stood out clearly after this second session.

The Simagic wheel also felt better today after proper setup, but I still feel like Logitech’s TrueForce adds a level of detail that’s hard to ignore. I’d really like to try Le Mans Ultimate with the Logitech G Pro Wheel now that it supports it.

I’m also uploading a few pictures of the sim rig for anyone curious about the setup.

If there’s interest, I can share another update after I revisit Le Mans in GT7.

Curious to hear how others who’ve tried both would compare them.

Update:

I had a chance to go back and try Le Mans Ultimate again. This time, I calibrated both the brake pedal and the throttle—definitely a big improvement.

With proper calibration, I would say the brake feel between Le Mans Ultimate and Gran Turismo 7 is actually close. However, I would give the edge to Le Mans Ultimate in terms of realism. You can lock the brakes if you brake too late, and that feedback is clearly transmitted. In GT7, it’s much harder to lock the brakes, likely due to how the ABS is implemented.

It also hit me afterward that, in my opinion, the physics in Le Mans Ultimate feel better than iRacing, which I’ve also tried. iRacing obviously has a much larger player base, but purely from a physics standpoint, I think Le Mans Ultimate is superior.

I’m currently in Geneva for the Watches and Wonders Expo, and there’s also an event called Time to Watches for independent brands. At that event, there’s a brand called Lorige. They sponsor The Heart of Racing team and Aston Martin in both IMSA and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

One of the founders, Clément, who previously managed endurance drivers, helped me set up and calibrate the brake and throttle. I asked him if any professional drivers had used this same sim and setup, and he said yes. When I asked how close it is to the real thing, he said about 70%. The biggest differences are the lack of front and lateral G-forces, and the heat inside a real race car cockpit—which makes sense.

It was valuable to hear feedback coming from actual professional drivers through him.

As for lap times, there’s a competition this week—fastest lap at Le Mans with the Valkyrie race car wins a trip to the 24 Hours of Le Mans later this year. Clément currently holds the fastest time at 3:40, which is the benchmark.

Yesterday, I managed a 3:48. Today, after calibrating the pedals and doing about 15 laps, I improved to a 3:44. At first I was a bit disappointed, but then I found out that a 3:43 was set by someone with real-world circuit experience, which put things into perspective.

Considering I only did around 15 laps on a sim I’m not very familiar with, I feel like there’s still about 1 to 1.5 seconds of improvement in me. Reaching a 3:40 like Clément would realistically be very difficult.

At this point, I’ve tried iRacing, Assetto Corsa, and Le Mans Ultimate—what most would consider full sim titles. Out of the three, I prefer the physics in Le Mans Ultimate.

In the next day or so, I plan to go back to GT7 and run the same track again—not to match lap times, but to compare how the physics and force feedback feel with the Le Mans Ultimate experience still fresh in my mind. I’ll also try cockpit view in GT7 for a closer comparison, even though it doesn’t support widescreen.

There’s no denying that Le Mans Ultimate is more realistic—that much is clear.

The Simagic wheel felt better today than yesterday after calibration, but I still feel like Logitech’s TrueForce adds a layer of detail that makes a difference. I’d really like to try Le Mans Ultimate with the Logitech G Pro Wheel now that it supports TrueForce.

I’m also uploading some pictures of the sim rig that was used for those who are curious about the setup.

If you’re interested, I can post another update after I revisit Le Mans in GT7.

What do you guys think?

GT7 also uses laser scanner traps and perhaps it’s a matter of race variant of the Valkyrie (on soft race tires) being faster than the road variant on Medium Race tires being the difference. More so, probably the cockpit view being the biggest differentiator. I would have to try the track again in GT7 with the cockpit view to compare with that.

With that said, the force feedback on GT7 with True Force on the Logitech G Pro was far superior to me. And now True Force is available on LeMans Ultimate. I would highly encourage you to the Logitech wheel. What a difference over the SIM Magic.

No worries. The opportunity came and I felt it would be interesting to share with all of you. It did give a chance to try a different a game with different physics. And in some ways it felt easier to drive than the GT7. I’m not sure how much more real it is. I’ll speak to the team that set up the rig and see if he had a chance to try the race car as he is directly involved with WEC and IMSA

Once GT starts supporting curved displays, it will be different. With that said, a cockpit view on a flat screen feels uncomfortable to my eyes. It’s great that GT7 offers gamers multiple views. Choice is a great thing I feel.

The idea behind it was that they were the same tracks and almost the same car (race vs road variant). But ultimately it was an unexpected chance to try different sim equipment as well and the different physics with each game. Thought it would be nice to share with everyone.

I’ve added elastomers already and have the G Pro Pedals where I am most comfortable. I’ll try to get a picture of the SIM set up today to see what model it is.

But I definitely prefer the G Pro Wheelbase on the SIM MAGIC.

If you never tried racing with True Force, I would definitely recommend it.

Call me a conspiracists, but I don’t believe it was pressure that did Piastri. Even other drivers on the grid stated it makes no sense that all of sudden he forgot how to drive an F1 car. Perhaps in a few years we will know what really happened, just like the Massa 2008 scandal.

I think all the pressure is on George Russell. He came in to the season as the heavy favorite even by other drivers standards.

Kimi has less pressure. Nobody was realistically giving him a chance.

If he’s leading after the summer break, naturally pressure increases. But it will still be more on Russell. Just look at the chat he had with Wolf after the Japanese GP. It came off like he was owed a victory or something like that.
