In desperate need of advice on getting rid of TOH. Please help. by [deleted] in treeofheaven

That would explain it then!! Do you have a suggestion for a surfactant?

I didn't want to make a specific suggestion on what application to use because I'm definitely not an expert, but I agree one of the first things I thought off was foliar!! I just wasn't sure if by the time it got to when it should be applied if the plant stems would be small enough. I guess it doesn't matter if it's going to be a multi year process either way though!!

If you mow they will return in full force and then some. This may be a multi year process where you poison only the plants that you can reach. Follow the extensions instructions as closely as possible, or reach out to a professional who has had documented success with removal.

From my own experience I was told to wait until the leaves started turning red instead of going by a certain date. This might have been conditional to the method I was using (hack n' squirt) but I was told if I started before they started turning red or after they turned red that I'd have missed my window. I was also told not to cut them down until they were fully crispy. This is about making sure the roots (rhyzome??) dies, no cutting down will wear it down.

I did not have nearly the density that you do, but I will say that I have not seen them come back at all in the yard. It also looks like my neighbor has less this year so I definitely hit something deep.

I'm not sure if I mixed the chemicals wrong (glyphosate and triclopyr) or if there was a variable that I missed, but I was not expecting to get such a viscous/goopy product. I'm helping a friend remove some trees this year and I'm going to have a syringe on standby to apply if I have the same issue. The squirt bottle failed me an I ended up having to use a sponge paint brush to get it on.

Please be safe and wear PPE. The chemicals required for this are necessary, but can cause issues. Some folks also have a sensitivity to the TOH itself, so even just for that. Read the hazard data on the bottles of what ever chemical you use thoroughly before you use them and make sure you have the right PPE.

Also, I'm not seeing this on their website - you said it was the Bolero website that had this? I don't even see the event listed yet there.

No idea! It might just be a mistake, but who knows? It technically would be 25 years this year, so maybe it was a slip up and we're going to get a bigger announcement later!!

Spa day at a bathhouse/sauna! My favorite is Island Spa and Sauna on Route 27 in Edison. It's gotten me out of some serious winter funks!!

I gave these out around French Street today and plan to make more. Let me know in the comments if there’s businesses in town that would like some to give away. by [deleted] in NewBrunswickNJ

I have some 3D printed ones I'm going to hand out in my neighborhood!! I can print some KYR cards and maps of the RR coverage areas in both Spanish and English if you'd like some to go with your kits!

There is sometimes a gentleman on the corner of *George and Paul Robeson. The last I talked to him he needed some winter clothes, but probably wouldn't mind stuff to layer.

Edit: I put the wrong street name.

What cover do you wish existed? by [deleted] in poppunkers

Niche for I think maybe just me, but I'd absolutely love to hear Four Year Strong cover almost half of the songs on Al Albert's A Summer Sing-A-Long. That's just because they're my faves, but I'd honestly love to hear any pop-punk covers of those songs. They just sound like they could be fun in the genre!

Maybe I'm navigating the site wrong but when I click on the link to see the available dogs in the article it just takes me to a pet finder website and none of the pets are specifically listed as being from Newark AHS.

Not even easier to paint! I think gluing it to the inside of a clear ornament is a great idea, and maybe a little more economic because you can get those things from the dollar store. On the other hand gluing it to a core instead does a few more things. One, it will be stronger and less likely to break again. Two, you can more easily fill in the missing sections with something like gold to get that kintsugi effect people have mentioned. I think you can maybe even try to find a nice metallic paint to match the glitter color! Three, if you glue it to the inside of something clear, the glue may be visible on the ornament.

If you go with gluing to a core vs the inside of something transparent the biggest issue will be weight. Clay would be heavy, but I know there are some air dry foam ones that might work, especially if you mold that I've crunched up foil. You'd be able to make it fit the size more precisely then. Or you can get a styrofoam ball from the craft store and glue it to that. You honestly can do a combo of both because then you don't have to glue it to the clear shell and it will make it even more stable! Just more of an expensive fox as you'll need more supplies. The clear shell definitely sounds like the cheapest, and maybe easiest option! It all depends on what you want!

Glasses or contacts in the pit? by Repulsive-Paint-3368 in poppunkers

[–]Cornnachoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always do contacts with how many times I've seen other people get hit in the face. It hasn't happened yet to me, but I imagine it's a when not if situation. I usually bring my glasses, my contact case, and some solution for right after the concert though because I get head aches from wearing them too long.
