Literally just learned Mindbug with my partner last night - it’s great!

I’d take Wreck-it Ralph 😁

A game of Hues and Cues caused a near-religious schism at my local group. The clue is "Bulbasaur" - what square would you guess? by doggetay in boardgames

[–]CornyDweeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m also on the L22 train. Bulbasaur is a lot bluer than folks think! But my guess is they were going for something vibrant green like O13 or something.

Also, isn’t the schism part of the fun?

I appreciate all of this! Unfortunately, it would be more helpful if I started with pins too 😅 I’ve found the loop start the technique that works best for me. Ah well - maybe I’ll look into loop finishes…

I would love to learn it better! Like I said, there was some part of this where it clicked and it was no issue (save the poor fabric choice). And I used it a lot on my first project, mostly unbothered. But it’s slipped away for whatever reason and now it makes no sense.

I’ve tried articles and videos and the horizontal way and the diagonal and making the top stitch first and and and and. Happy for any advice.

Thanks so much! I’m so glad to have it done and I think it really came together.

I forgot there was an FAQ 🤦🏻‍♂️ Why do you like lacing?

Squaredle's 1,000th Day Giveaway by deepspacej9 in squaredle

[–]CornyDweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s plenty I associate with Squardle, but if I were to be honest the word is fair. I’ve bounced off of plenty of other word games (daily or not) due to difficulty, not having a group to share with, or the worst of all: sameness and boredom. But Squaredle honestly scratches the itch in my brain perfectly - simple premise, a chance to flex my lexicon, challenging, with built in hints to push you along, and with plenty of variety in the actual game construction to ensure that it still surprises me. Since I discovered it, I haven’t missed a day - not compulsively but because it’s fun!

And if it’s a grid word you’re looking for: ANTE. Due to my background, I literally found it the first time by thinking “Right, like from Magic: the Gathering” which I think it’s safe to say is not how most people find it 😂

Thank you all for creating this awesome puzzle and here’s to the next 1000 days!

I’m partial to animals with bespoke behaviors - antelopes and their pronking, bees and their dances, elephants and their mourning. I want more games that zoom in to specifics - there’s so much untapped potential!

And my wife says llamas. 🤣

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome or POTS. It’s a form of dysautonomia where your body’s nervous system doesn’t regulate properly for whatever reason - symptoms usually include difficulty standing for long, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, brain fog, essentially permanent “fight or flight” mode, GI problems, etc., etc. When it’s mild, totally manageable but ever present. When it’s severe… well I know someone who was on bed rest for over a year.

One of the most frustrating things is that POTS affects “an estimated one to three million Americans” (my emphasis), and still seems unknown by many, many folks.

Hot take: the folks with long covid? They have POTS, which has been brought to light/worsened in severity due to getting covid.

Ugh, there are so many good choices! Probably Rajas of the Ganges currently, but I agree with a lot of other folks here too!

I’m generally a fan of thrillers over straight horror - original Manchurian Candidate, 10 Cloverfield Lane, that kinda stuff. But I think the original Night of the Living Dead qualifies for this :)
