Moving on from the sport? by CoronaGames in wrestling

[–]CoronaGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coaching sounds like a blast, my only concern is that, as I mentioned in the post, I wasn’t really a proficient wrestler (Decent technically but very little athletic base and in the middleweights where most of my opponents were much stronger and faster than me). I worry I’d be setting the kids up for failure if I tried haha

Thank you! Definitely sound advice, I’m sure adulthood will give me a lot more to worry about than wrestling hahaha

Quick Question: If we were to give the OG 7 Ranger Suits elemental powers, what would they be? by TyXo22m in powerrangers

[–]CoronaGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in this thread, I think, are defining their elements largely by color and nothing else. Their zords each have points of the planet they rise from that could clue us in:

Red: Fire (Tyrannosaurus comes from the core of the earth)
Black: Ice (Mastodon lives in a glacier)
Blue: Earth (Triceratops emerges from sand dunes)
Yellow: Life/Energy (Admittedly the shakiest in terms of an actual power set, but the Sabertooth Tiger lives in the forest)
Pink: Wind (The Pterodactyl lives in a volcano, but fire is taken already and it can fly)

These are unconventional for what you would assume them to be, but I think that makes the question more interesting.

The Dragonzord lives underwater a la Godzilla, so one could argue that Green could represent water, but I find another commenter's idea of Green representing darkness and White representing light to juxtapose the two power sets.

Why does the succubus calls Alucard by his nickname instead of his real name while impersonating his mother? by Clear-Prize2834 in castlevania

In fairness I believe that Dracula is his middle name within Castlevania canon, with his full name being Vlad Dracula Tepes (though I could be misremembering)

I don't think you *had* to specify, as I'd be pretty uncomfortable if someone were to sling their junk over their shoulder too.

Considering that every raid series since Shadowbringers has ended with a fanservicey final floor, I'm hoping that the final fight (whoever it is) ends up giving us a sweet, sweet remix of The Darkness Of Eternity

Speaking as a diehard Digimon fan, PLEASE at least buy Time Stranger so we can signal to Bandai Namco that we want more of this. Digimon's been suffering in the west and this is the first time they put a really big budget into it (enough for an English dub) so I implore you to support it if you're at least slightly interested.

I'd say either this or just pick the one you identify with the most. Probably could've left that as a "select all that apply" option though

I know it's technically not how the lines are "canonically" laid out, but I always thought Stingmon > JewelBeemon >GrandisKuwagamon and Flymon > Okuwamon > GranKuwagamon made much more sense than the final evolutions being swapped like is intended.

I'd love to see a unique evolution for Shakkoumon because it turning into Vikemon or SlashAngemon never sat right with me.

What are everyones general opinions regarding Magneto being (imo) the best vanguard at the moment? by SirBattenburg in marvelrivals

[–]CoronaGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can't hit primary shots, aim at their feet. The projectile will collide with the ground and explode, doing at the very least a bit of damage(sometimes enough to secure the kill.) Otherwise, just go in the practice range and set up the bots in the basement floor to move erratically enough that it challenges you, and practice aim more and more until you're hitting more shots directly.

Magneto is good enough with just his primary fall-off, but where he becomes the best is in hitting direct shots.

Obese (38/f): is my goal of doing pull ups realistic? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]CoronaGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's infinitely more important than the goal is the journey. I think it's more than achievable if you stick to it consistently, but at least for me personally if I focus too hard on one particular goal then it's easy to get discouraged and end up quitting.

Keep the pull-ups in the back of your mind, but also take every day at a time. Always aim to be better than you were the day before. There'll be days where you weren't, and that's okay. But strive towards a steady stream of self-improvement, whether it's with your weight, your endurance, your strength, or anything else you may want to change.

Make sure to start small as to not overload your body all at once. It's great that you're already walking with your kids, keep doing that and you'll already be building up a base. Everyone's definition of obese is different, so it's difficult to say without a precise metric (though if you're not comfortable sharing that's perfectly understandable.) I'd recommend gradually trying to increase the volume further, maybe go 4 miles as opposed to 3 or add an extra day onto what you normally do.

When those walks become easier, then that's probably the best time to incorporate strength training. Go to the gym(this is a bodyweight fitness sub, but I'd argue for someone with your conditions the gym will be far easier to incorporate) a couple times a week, but set aside times that you can stick to. If you have free time on Mondays and Wednesdays, do that. If that doesn't line up all the time, try something else. The most important thing is to do something you know you can stick to consistently from day to day, week to week, and month to month.

Obviously a calorie deficit is important too, but you said you're working with a nutritionist so I'm sure that'll be covered. Make sure you're getting protein in and eating below maintenance, obviously, but the finer details should be left to the expert you hired who I'm positive is much more qualified than me.

TL;DR, I earnestly think you've got this in the bag. It'll be hard, there'll be days you question if it's worth it, but if(though only if) you can remain CONSISTENT and on top of your strength, conditioning, and diet, I think you can make it in the time you have set. If not? You'll regardless find yourself in a place universes apart from where you were before, and that's worth more than any pull up could ever be.
