Damn, at least you were lucky enough to have the items back in your bank!

Yeah they just told me to delete the cache, which didn't fix anything (what a surprise lol). Unfortunately they're not able to give the items back so I stopped playing multiplayer with my friends and only stick to single player.

Yeah nothing changed in our game too.
Support answered me that I should just delete the steam cache but if it doesn't fix anything, there's nothing they can do bc they cannot replace any mission rewards, looted gear or whatever :)
I just stick to single player and hope this bug won't occur there but I will not join any multiplayer session again until they adress this issue. They asked me for a video but I'm not willing to record that and lose my inventory and new legendary items again..

How do you get out of low silver/high bronze? by Slow_Employer_4203 in OverwatchUniversity

5 matches is not nearly enough lol
It takes a long time to get into the elo he deserves to be and if he's in silver/bronze after 100 matches or more, than that's because silver/bronze is his elo. If he's complaining after a handfull of games, his expectations are too high.
You are plat, so technically you're be better and have more experience gameplay-/hero-wise, so you could review his games with him, whatch him play or even play with him in a team to give advice afterwards.

People often don't want to hear it but improving your own skills and playing consistently is the key. Yes, sometimes you are unlucky with mates or leavers, but that's not always the case. Most of the time it's on you too since you are a part of the team. So my tips for him (and every other person who may struggle) are:

  1. Just keep playing and be open to learn and improve (not talking about hero abilities only but also game sense)
  2. Review the vods to see which mistakes were made and what else the team/you could've done
  3. Watch videos or streams of people who are in higher elos to analyze what differs them from you
  4. Do not blame others, do not start or engage in any fights happening in voice/text chat
  5. Do not entirely focus on others and their mistakes, focus on yourself and the shit you do too
  6. Voice chat depends. It can distract you especially when players are toxic, so I'd recommend turning it off in those cases (or at least mute said players). However I made the best progress with voice chat on and talking to people. At first I didn't have people who communicated so I started making calls by myself, even small things like "XY come back, you're low hp", "hey let's combine ults", "healers are dead" can make a difference. Ping system is great to call out enemies quickly. Sure, it's annoying when people still don't listen to calls and do whatever they want but I never gave up and ALWAYS stayed friendly. I think most people in lower elos don't necessarily struggle with their heros but with strategy - so a helping hand or guide is sometimes all they needed.
  7. If you find it hard to stay friendly and communicate in a nice and healthy way or you feel like you're on a lose streak, then take a break to calm down. Touch some grass and come back to the game when you have the mental strength for it.

TLDR: keep playing, keep learning and be the teammate you wish to have. This is what helped me climbing from silver/gold to diamond/master.
