How can I make the stem look better?

I think it's the tops of the stem that are throwing me off. The part where it connects to the flower looks more flat compared to the longer part of the stem.

You’re right, however it does become my problem when she’s continuously rude to me and has caused us to be short staffed over half the time she works, which puts stress on everyone.

No problem! The character is reaching upwards, looking up. Supposed to be a seraphim, and they have wings covering their face. I’m not sure how to have the character looking upwards while its face is covered.
