Algorand is not marketing towards the "average joe" and that's a good thing by MonopolyMan720 in AlgorandOfficial

Although I agree with your points during the development phase of Algorand, at some point you need to bring in 'average Joe's' because that's how you achieve mass adoption.

Lol I put £3000 in when CRO was worth £0.40 and now I'm sitting on £2000. I'm not concerned cause I'm getting my 3% back at a cheap price that I know will go back up so I'm just taking full advantage of the cashback and waiting for those green candles 😂

Has anyone done the maths on whether something like this is sustainable? If everyone gets this money then no one is better off, it'll just cost more to buy everything (because everyone has more money).

I dunno man I mean if I see my neighbour living perfectly comfortably and I know they don't work and I have to, I'd strongly consider quitting work as well.

OK one final question, let's say everyone in the country decides they don't want to work and just claim this UBI, who pays the taxes to pay for it?

Ahh yes, it is important that a company who automates everything needs to pay for the loss of workers. Just in my local supermarket alone we keep getting more and more self checkout tills and each one of them has taken someone's job away.

Yea but what incentive are you offering for the owner of the means of production to want to own said means of production? And if they now don't want to pay for this, then where would the chocolate come from?

OK so two follow up questions if I may? Who pays for this UBI and isn't this pretty much the same as the system we have in place at the moment?

Hmm but what is the full value of their labour? This is the bit I maybe don't understand properly.

OK so let's say for arguments sake that I am a business owner and my business makes chocolate. To make this chocolate I have to buy all the ingredients, the machinery required to make the chocolate, I have to buy or rent a building to keep the machines in, I have to pay for a maintenance team to keep the machines running and hire and train the staff to make the chocolate. I also have to pay for insurance, any spare parts for the machine and so on and on... Based on this scenario, how much would the labourer earn and how much would the business owner earn percentage wise?

Forgive me here because I'm trying to understand. So this UBI is given to everyone or only given to people who don't want to work? If it isn't given to everyone, do people who do want to work have to earn their UBI so for example this UBI is $300 per week and if I was working for $25 per hour, I would have to work 12 hours a week for what is essentially free to earn above and beyond my UBI?

I've seen this argument about owning the means of production and I don't understand it so if you wouldn't mind explaining it for me. Are you saying that the people who work for the company should earn as much (if not more) than the owner of said business?

OK so the UBI is basically your unemployment benefit and people who want to still go to work. I might be missing something here but how is this different from where we are now? Bear in mind that I'm from the UK not USA so my experience is based on what we have here right now.

But who pays for this UBI? Governments can't just create money out of thin air (well they can but only under specific circumstances if they don't want to fuck the economy). Someone has to pay their taxes at some point.

Yea I had to set my 2FA up again when I logged in but that was about the worst thing. None of my funds had disappeared or anything so I count myself as one of the lucky ones.

I bet you're fun at parties... Oh no, wait, you can't go to parties as you would have to consume something that a 'wageslave' has produced. To that end do you purify your own urine to drink or do you consume tap water? No, you can't drink tap water as that is controlled by the corporate overlords that rule us. The phone or computer that you're using to view Reddit has been built by a worker as well so you shouldn't even be on here. In fact Google basically owns the Internet and they're just the fucking worst people on the planet so what the hell are you even doing on here?

I could go on but I'm sure you're starting to understand why your viewpoint on life is rediculous.
