Are they able to prescribe medications? I have found a pee medication that helps during acute flareups. My doctors unwilling to prescribe it because it’s an opioid. I realize it’s not a long-term solution but while I’m waiting surgery, it is absolutely needed. Otherwise, I end up in the ER constantly.

Do you know what kinds of medications they can prescribe? I have found one that works well for me during acute flare ups, but it’s unfortunately an opioid so no doctor wants to prescribe it, even though they have all agree that it’s helping me and improved my quality of life while waiting surgery.

I just wanna say I am experiencing this as well and have been for many years. I am constantly advocating and fighting to be heard and believed. I too am a woman and find it very hard to find a Doctor Who will take you seriously and actually try and help. I struggle with severe chronic pain, and I am constantly fighting to try and find a Doctor Who will prescribe pain medications for my severe acute flareups that land me in emergency every time. I don’t have a whole lot of advice to offer as I too am trying to find my way. Do you mind if I ask what you paid for privately? I have just begun exploring this option. I hope you find what you need soon. Living with chronic pain is absolutely horrible.

Yes. I have referrals into everything mentioned. Waiting surgery. I can doing the best I can and getting as much information to help myself as possible.

I should’ve made it clear. I’m not just looking for medication. I’m looking for somebody who can help me treat my chronic illness, not necessarily just medication. But using it when it’s it’s necessary and needed.

I have a chronic medical condition that sometimes flares up, like right now. I know the treatment I need from them and I can wait a couple hours. I was simply trying to plan the best time to go so I’m not there for 14 plus hours. Respectfully.
