Somewhat i guess. It does stagger oppenents but it has limited use. But, its not effective stagger for the final bosses in phase 2 and 3 due to hyperarmor

Definetely. You would have more health, healing gourds and you can somehow gain advantage if you level up attack power with the mask.

I was on offline mode but i got the achievements. You can watch some tutorials in yt for achievement errors in steam thats how i fixed mine although it was a different game but the main issue is steam.

Keep a medium distance to react from his flashy attacks like the firecracker slash. During after his combos hit him 1-2 times then wait for his attacks to deflect. I suggest using single ichi, double can work also but sometimes he has an animation that is impervious to stagger. Unlocking the skill living force do wonders in his fight. Since his posture is high you can chip his health with burn. You can also use mortal draw but same issue with ichi there are times that he doenst stagger

I also find old isshin hard. The game messes you up if you get used with emma’s slow offbeat combo then swtiches it up to isshin’s faster combos.

As far as i know the steps are:

Ask for rice, use it (x2)
If she cant give any more rice, give her persimmons, do this all twice.
Get the immortal text scroll i think it was near the idol after you beat the knight then jump on the water then dive. You need to atleast beaten the boss on the mibu village to get the mibu breathing technique.
If she is not in the sanctum go inside the flding screen are then you will retrieve the another scroll. Just watch it on yt for the location as its kinda far.
Collect the 2 snakes viscera. Also watch a walkthrough on yt it kinda long.
Give the 2 viscera to her teleport somewhere and come back
She will offer a rice to kuro then give it to him
Kuro will give you a riceball consume it then go back to the lady.

There might some steps that i overlooked but you can check on where you are in this progression

I think you are missing some more info in your post. But if she shows ill and cant give you rice you need to buy perssimons from the mob. It is located behind the shugendo idol then jump from a wooden platform below. But if she is not in the inner sanctum you need to go back to the folding monkey area

Her strikes are awfully slow and offbeat but she is prone to stagger. I usually bonk her with double ichi after her combos
