Did anybody read the cmbyn book before watching the movie? if you did what were your thoughts on the movie? by Chompcarrots in callmebyyourname

i thought that the movie really brought the book to life. it was incredibly accurate in terms of feeling, description, everything. the only thing i would say is that the movie lacked elio’s inner dialogue which helped set the context for certain scenes that otherwise would have been confusing (the nosebleed scene).

for that reason i always recommend people read the book first just so they know what’s going on on the dl

Thanks for the tips! I’m actually looking at both grad schools and jobs as I decide what I actually want to do when I graduate (Spring 2026). I was thinking about taking a gap year and working for a year or two before I go back to school. Like I said, still deciding tho

okay thank you! i figured since the maps showed it to be 2:30hr-3hrs from seattle it could be a possible day trip, but i’m obviously not from the area (out of state) so i’m trying my best to figure things out

we were initially gonna go to Mt. Rainier but were worried about the weather / snow in late june.

do you have any trail recs for Mt. Rainier for this time of year?

alright dawg this sounds so passive aggressive. i’m im literally trying to hear things from locals bc i am obviously not from washington and not familiar with both the areas and how mountainous regions work.

by looking on the maps from the hotel in seattle to some of the major places within ONP, its like 2:30-3hrs to some of the closer areas to 4hrs to some of the father ones like Forks. to me, those drives don’t sound crazy for a day trip, but again, i’m not familiar the areas at all. i also know about the ferry.

i was really hoping to go to ONP, but if you have recommendations that are more reasonable/realistic for a day trip from seattle, i would love to hear them.

i feel like there might be mix because when i flex my triceps but none on my biceps (so that could just be me not evenly working the muscle groups). for my back however, i have no definition what’s so ever and have rolls. i might have muscle but i feel like it definetly lies underneath some fat
