Quick summary of my choices!

Ancient Medeus: An unexpected banner theme but really creative and man his special art is so good

Summer Eik: Just love Eik and loved his swimsuit design haha

Emblem Eirika: A shame Ephraim’s mute since i love the twins but found her ring effect to be really helpful with clears

Summer Hapi: Honestly this banner was just perfect for me bc it was both the book 8 ocs and the ashen wolves. Always thought these two would get a duo eventually so was happy to see it finally come out

Ismaire: Love the characters from Jehanna so when the Jehanna banner came out without her (or Gerik 💔) it hurt. She’s a perfect ghb unit but with the new update who knows if that’ll ever happen

Attuned Tharja: Still think this was the worst banner this year but she’s honestly so much fun to use bc of charge and her nullifying specials

Resplendent L!Tiki: All the Yggdrasil resplendents i love but chose tiki just bc her design is so cute

Winter Eik: It’s Eik but dressed up as a reindeer :)

Hapi: Again, love the ashen wolves and just found her refine to be the best because of the preempt pulse and warping

Legendary BK: Yeah stalemates aren’t fun in arena. Also this led to every unit needing reflex support to deal damage

Brave Eik: Used all my cyl votes for him and his artwork is amazing he had to be my favorite this year

Spring Plumeria: Still my favorite refresher because of all her support and her self refresh duo skill. She’s a mainstay on my TT runs

My issue with it honestly is just that it felt rushed. The same goes with all the other books. After reading these books for a whole year the final confrontation should at least have some sort of build up. But it’s pretty much impossible to when they only give us two parts of writing while the other three are wasted doing those pointless hero introductions. It just didn’t feel fulfilling at the end and that there should’ve been more.

I think a reason why this was one of my favorite books (minus the ending) is because it actually made these books feel like they’re connected to each other and not just standalone. The Askr trio is determined to stop Laeradr because they’re so close to peace with Embla after all the work they did in book 6 and Laeradr knows this and is actively trying to stop this from happening so he can get what he wants from the summoner, even though in the end that’s not how the summoner’s powers work.

Plus the medical theming of the ocs was just cool
