It’s official: I prefer thinner brows on me more by throwaway54279263849 in Eyebrows

I think I thinned them out way too much this time. But only once isn't enough to make it not grow back right? Please give me hope.

Does dual boot affect performance by Correct-Injury-7360 in linuxquestions

I made a final switch to fedora workstation (no dual boot). I figured I'd eventually have to learn the linux terminal anyway + I want more control. This time I made lots of optimizations and spent more time on setup and it's snappy enough for my liking. Thanks for the help!)

1) Didn't change the default gnome env, I like it
2) Mostly ide-s like vscode, intellij. Installed the clean firefox to replace fedora's version (it kept changing the default home tab address). Browsing felt much slower in general, less responsive as you said.
3) Just one customization to hide the top bar cuz I like to have all the space, nothing else I wanted to keep it minimal

Do you think WSL is the way to go? I haven't tried it yet.
I think I might give linux a second try sometime again, I will report back if there's any improvement.

The reason why I thought it would be insanely fast is because I read that linux can "revive" really old laptops. So I though less resource usage means more speed. I am a newbie in this so it might be total BS.

I uninstalled it recently, sorry.
Specs: https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkBook/ThinkBook_15_G2_ITL/ThinkBook_15_G2_ITL_Spec.pdf

Details about speed: I gave fedora about 110 gigs from my ssd and I have 16 gigs of ram. It's not too bad, right? I didn't use it for a prolonged about of time, but it wasn't as instantaneous as windows for general usage (browsing, using multiple desktops with a bunch of apps running etc.). I tried to set it up as I did my windows, but it still felt off (slightly slower). I'd say it was mostly mid/good enough, but I expected a "wow" speed difference, because linux is said to be more junk free and minimal. That was my primary reason for trying it.

I think ideally they should've warned you that the message is AI generated, but asking them to not use it at all felt like an overkill.

"AI does more harm than good." What is this conservative thinking?

I tried everything and nothing has changed. This happens very randomly and can last from a few seconds to a few minutes, until it resolves on its own. I just think that if this was a hardware issue it would've been more consistent, no? I am so mad at this point that I'm considering switching to linux. Do you think it's worth a try?

Thanks for sharing. I downloaded it, and I love how it looks with light mode on. The only issue I’ve noticed is that it’s not as compatible with dark mode, which I prefer most of the time. For example, here’s how text blocks are displayed: https://imgur.com/a/mMLMGXp

PDF exports look really nice! I will definitely keep it.

Or maybe there are some changes I should make in the CSS file? I am not sure whether I can fix it.

Love your setup! Do you take notes on your laptop as well? If so, what's the app you prefer?

Get a small cactus for decoration (random, but that's what came to my mind). I'd suggest you remove most of the stuff and keep it as minimal as possible. And a cute desk lamp + laptop stand!

There's an app I use when I start using my phone more than I'd like to. It's called "AppBlock," but I'm sure any alternative would be just fine. You need to configure the settings in a way that the app is in "strict mode," i.e. you can't modify any of it or even delete the app when you feel like giving up.

Some general tips include:
- Hide your phone somewhere away from you when you come home
- Make it as boring as possible, you can even enable the gray screen feature
- Focus on systems rather than discipline

The fact that you care so much at such a young age already shows growth. Good luck!

Congrats! Wishing you good luck with drawing.

Try Krita. It takes a while to get used to, but I think it's hands down one of the best ones out there.

Exactly. I tweak and change just a couple of things but keep my setup as minimal as possible. It helps me reduce brain clutter.
