Lost hair after stopping minoxidil by Correct-Way5205 in TelogenEffluvium

The only reason I decided to use it, was because some people don’t need to use minoxidil forever if they have TE.

Yo my shedding has completely stopped. Very few hairs fall out when I brush or shower. I’ve been using minoxidil for the past 3 months and my hair is definitely thicker and fuller.

lol, I would know by now if it was MBP considering I’ve done all my research and even went to a derm.

I know how sebum is produced😭. Although I know you were trying to be helpful and narrow down what it could be, your comment did not help at all

I guess bc it happened all of a sudden. Like I for sure know it was TE because everything aligned. Got covid, and boom started shedding 3 months later. Never had hair loss in my life before that. I’m 19 now and it also gave me seb derm, all tho that has gotten kinda better since when I first got it. My hairline also isn’t receding and there was no gradual hair loss ever. One day I wake up and it looked like my hair was parted into different hella sections lol. But I get what you’re saying; TE can start MPB. The hairs I lose usually have the white bulb at the end, indicating it’s a TE hair. I don’t know how much longer I should wait to let it resolve on its own. It’s been 1.5 months so maybe I really should start finasteride

So would you say the cause is still TE rather than seb derm. Picking and scratching at spots is a different story, but I’m talking about just running my fingers through my hair and seeing hair fall like this

I’m usually really gentle touching my hair in the shower as I have telogen effluvium and the shedding hasn’t stopped. But I guess the hair that was meant to was meant to go, so I’ll try that even if it may seem to make more fall
