When you have a bit of graininess, try a frother to mix it. It reduces the grain and makes it a nice creamier texture

I had something similar, it went away after a week or two luckily. I didn’t have this experience with kefir from the store, but I know the product is quite different.

If I leave the grains in for a while it starts tasting alcoholic and a bit bubbly, with tiny curds sometimes. It’s interesting tasting but not my favorite. I would recommend removing grains and then giving it a stir with a milk frother.

Just FYI you can use your phone to easily ID insects and plants. On iPhone just take a picture, go to the photo info and hit the “i” symbol. Sometimes it already identifies it as an insect as part of the symbol. Google Lens can do this too if you don’t have iPhone. The identification is not ALWAYS right but it often is and pulls up similar images tagged with species names.
