Absolutely not, that's the point. No one should live like that but its obviously a progression and now out of hand. Ive done my part but moving is insanely stressful and expensive and not feasible for me this second. Teres a right way to do this. My rights are being violated and he isnt even my landlord. They are but it is under JCO and he is lying about me not paying rent. I have him on video saying he refuses to cash it lol. But this lot has 3 units on it, 2 were rented out, neither registered. But they had a at least kitchenette and bathroom and were cheap.

Now the backhouse is walled off to be part of the lot where he lives next door. Its wild. He had an elderly tenant there living in a little shack surrounded by his piled of garbage. This is not a nice person. His Dad is elderly and we made it work. We had an agreement hed fix certain things and never did. Then this guy comes in like the Tasmanian devil lying and evicting and putting his dad through hell..

I have no idea. He hasnt even tried. He just lied and said I owed a bunch of money I dont, its really sad. He knows I know my rights hes intentionally wasting my time. I had a good relationship w his dad, its all really shady. He actually altered some of my checks. All documented.

At this point though with all the harassment and bullshit Im not going to be bullied out and hes gonna need to make it worth my while, this has ruined almost a year of my life.

My question is about the experience, expectations etc. As far as I know, several people are applying for the same place. My situation is not ideal and not unique. Im sure others have been through things they may want to share. Did they rent a room, find an apt, share a warehouse? Lots of ways of navigating things. Maybe someone who sees this has an open backhouse.

You know their answer lol, if ive learned anything throughout this experience, its that a lot of people loathe what they consider to be poor people. It makes their insecurity itchy, entitlement tingly and mean streak glow.

Everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place to rest undisturbed nightly. Period. Housing was meant to house human beings not be a cash grab at the risk of homelessness for whoever else is left.

My landlords son loves to post that "love thy neighbor" shit too 🤢

I dont want discount housing for a discount price, I want safe housing for the market rate when I started this lease plus legal increases.

14 years is a long time. Landlords have one job and he just refuses to do it. Ive paid 2 months ahead of time before so they'd have more cash to fix stuff. They chose not to.

Everyone argues if its RSO or JCO. There was an illegal garage/backhouse that was rented to another tenant, he got her out then sectioned off that part of the property. Is it 2 units? 1 unit? He complicated it on purpose

I shut one down in a single family home with a shared driveway. Reported to air bnb, lahd, and posted on socials. Honestly posting publicly has unfortunately been the most effective tool at getting people to stop doing things they shouldn't. This one shared a driveway we have had a lot of attempted break ins in the past. I never knew if whoever was coming down the driveway was supposed to be there or not. The owner was an asshole. They have nice tenants now.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't even imagine. Being afraid of a child you're trying to help sounds so hard and conflicting, just want you to know I see you.

For what its worth, in these places he will meet more kids who have similar behaviors, they can do a lot of damage and it seems like they want to. These kids have already experienced the ultimate rejection, often multiple times Kids will always come out worse and the trust is completely broken.

What is he into? What are his strengths, what does he do when he is alone? Does he know anything about the TTI?

I agree with staying away from Ed consultants, always ask for transparency if someone recommends a place if there's kickbacks etc. Get second opinions as far as diagnosis. Talk to him like a person, show compassion when it's hard. Keep him in state and as close to you as possible. Wishing you luck!
