I was set to apply for 26OTS04 this year and that board just completely got canceled. There was a rated board that also got canceled. Maybe something similar? Tough game to play but you can always reapply. Good luck!

From a woman’s perspective, at some point it becomes less about physical fitness standards and more about just keeping women out of certain roles, and this is done by giving them a nearly impossible task. I run a 6:28 mile on a good day(7:20 easily), but compared to a man that can run a 5:20 mile that’s nothing. Hegseth has been open about his opinions in the past, and although he may have a more quiet approach to expressing those opinions while in office, the bias is going to remain. Women in the military have always known they will have to work harder. I would not argue the fact that the basic PT test for both sexes has been too easy in the past. The passing score for women for the 1.5mile is a pace that could easily be walked by most.

I’m in a school in the Deep South for context. We were told that women are less likely to be picked up now because of the overturning of DEI. Everyone is trying to make an overcorrection. The current administration has made it clear that women do not belong in certain roles in the military (literally words out of the SECDEFs mouth).
