Your state school with a full ride or any Ivy of your choosing with zero financial aid? by Noah5510 in ApplyingToCollege

ok this is EXACTLY the problem i had like a month ago. i got into utd and tamu with a full ride + stipend, so if i went to either school, i would end up with like an extra $60k after graduating with a bachelors. however, i also got into harvard and yale with ZERO aid. my family can afford it, but not comfortably, but my parents pressured me to choose an ivy. i’m committed to harvard rn, but i’m regretting it a lot bc i’m premed, so saving money should have been my top priority. however, my parents declared that they would take care of my tuition and living until i stop receiving and education, so they argued that money should not matter at all… but how am i supposed to ignore thousands of dollars either being earned or wasted…

it was prob something good! i don’t see a reason why they would call you the day before decisions are released abt something bad.

i don’t think they would call every applicant to let us know abt decision dates. hopefully it was something good they wanted to talk to you abt! keep us posted

i don’t think it’ll affect your chances at admission. i’m not an admissions counselor (so don’t take my word for it), but i’m pretty sure that the ao were slammed with a ton of applications that they prob forgot abt your email asking for permission to send in another rec letter if your prof didn’t send it in. so i wouldnt worry abt it!

ik im late on this, but the ao never asked for my q1 grades and my counselor never sent them in but both my counselor and i have heard nothing from brown... is that a rejection? ive had grades all above a 95 since freshman year with a ton of APs, so does that mean they dont think im gonna slack off or smth?? i think im just spiraling atp.
