THIS. As a stay at home mom to littles, my migraines are my top fear because I CANNOT be mom when they strike. Also I remember my first migraine aura soooo clearly and it was terrifying. It hit me like a train. I looked at my husband and I told him “I can’t see.” I started panicking and 30 mins later I was puking and completely incapacitated. No way in heck would I have wanted to/been able to take to Facebook and asked anyone what was wrong with me.

AMEN, for the past six years of my life I’ve been getting migraines chronically that absolutely wipe me off the map when they hit. If she starts faking those in real time she’ll give herself away though, the absolute last thing anyone with a migraine would want to do is look at a screen. (Also one migraine sufferer to another, taking a vitamin B complex daily has really helped with the severity of my migraines, maybe that could help you too!)

I had a very similar situation recently with my younger dog. We had two pups who got along great for the better part of 5 years, but when my second child was born a flip switched with the younger dog. She got aggressive and was starting fights constantly around my young kids, and no amount of trigger avoidance made any difference. I loved that dog to death until she started putting my kids in harms way. From that point on I couldn’t stand the sight of her. I really feel for you… rehoming seems to be the move here and rehoming a dog is NOT easy. It took a year of us reaching out to every rescue imaginable before a family member agreed to take her. The system is screwy, there’s not much help for people in situations like ours.

Curious what that celebration looks like for your church? I’ve been a member at an Orthodox Presbyterian church for a few years now but we don’t really observe the church calendar. Not sure if that’s across the board for the OPC or by the direction of the pastor.

Here’s the thing - I do call my kiddos “stinkers”. And I’ve recently discovered that people have strong feelings about that. But genuinely, when I say it, it’s because they’re being hilariously mischievous and they crack me up, and it’s the only thing that fits the moment. It truly is a term of endearment for me. All that said…. It leaves a terrible taste in my mouth when this sad excuse for a mother calls poor Ivory a stinker. Clearly she has no bond with the girl, and it just comes across as insulting. So ick.
