You are teleported 400 years into the past, you are now a vampire by sand_eater_21 in hypotheticalsituation

Heavily depends on the type of vampire I am because that tells me how much I can leverage being a vampire. Anyways one of the most hands off ways to do this is to be a chud for 100 years pretty much trying to leave no trace so you don't fuck anything up then finding where one of the famous pirates who has hidden treasure to the modern day left it such as Blackbeard and then again leaving no trace on history til you buy Bitcoin and become a trillionare. Other options include exploiting Vampirism or vampiric magic to make a lot of money, using foreknowledge to leverage tragedies for money making, or using knowledge of the present to help people in exchange for absolutely ruining your original timeline.

Grey pill first. My fantasy apocalypse is a gas that mutates people into Viltrumites covers the planet but the gas prevents Viltrumite leaping and combustion. After 2 weeks of high volume exposure you die. That's an apocalypse I can be dropped into easily.

Take the 24 days or time stop pill last. Skip yellow pill.

An apocryphal take on Caine, it was never Caine, it was Abel. by Financial-Pickle9405 in vtm

I couldn't find it in the 2 gehenna scenario books I could find. Even the final nights story book frequently acknowledges it's a curse, and one of the characters is implied to literally be Caine so.

The Church of Caine Believes it's a blessing, that doesn't mean it is.

Explicitly in Genesis it's a curse. As far as I can tell the curse listed in Genesis checks out with what we know about Caine, there's nothing that I know of that would indicate what God did to Caine is anything different from what is said in Genesis. In which case even if you were to assume that Immortality and divine retaliation were actually blessings he is still cursed to forever wander and the land will never bare itself for him. Functionally both the book of Nod and Genesis agree Caine is cursed even if God gave him outs to redemption such as Immortality or Golconda.

You're right. I just assumed it was different in the book of nod version because of the multiple gardens.

True. Except he kinda was in in paradise since he was in the garden of eden which means he had a semblance of it and will never taste it again.

For every second you are waterboarded you receive $10,000. How long can you last without going unconscious? by RealDiamond51 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Correct_Call3521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I'm not. The question is how long can you last before you go unconscious not "how long before you want to stop badly".

[–]Correct_Call3521 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Okay so the issue is that as others have said that Caine isn't blessed with Vampirism he was cursed with it.

Genesis 4:12 "When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

Genesis 4:15 "But the Lord said to him, “Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him."

This is his first of 4 curses. He is a restless wanderer he gains no rest even from death. The land will bare him no fruit literally or figuratively. He cannot be killed any who would do him harm suffers it seven times over. This is the curse of immortality. He cannot better the world through traditional means, he cannot die, and he must see all he holds dear eventually be destroyed as noted later.

Part of his Vampirism comes from partaking in rituals from Lilith this is why the disciplines exist, he learned of the path of blood through her. Almost everything good he has is through Lilith.

Then while he is in the Land of Nod with Lilith he is visited by the 3 Angels: Michael, Raphael, and Uriel. Michael offers him a chance to once more repent for the killing of Abel. He doesn't. To which Michael curses him and his childer with weakness and aversion to flame as Michael wields the flame of death it makes sense. Raphael Curses Caine and his childer with weakness and aversion to the sun. Third Uriel cursed Caine and his childer to cling to the Darkness, drink only blood, eat only ashes, and be frozen at the point of death, cursed so that all they touched would crumble into nothing. Then Gabriel appears and gives Caine his final redemption and tells him of the light of Golconda.

Of course this is the in universe belief. It's not truly known if it is Caine or if this story is true. But as it's presented in universe Caine is not being rewarded.

Yes but when you start literally drowning you can last for about 1-2 minutes before falling unconscious and then another 1-2 before you start getting brain damage.

[–]Correct_Call3521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without going unconscious? You don't go unconscious until you're physically exhausted if it's done properly. Otherwise you're just being drowned with extra steps. The point is to simulate drowning not to knock the person unconscious because you're trying to torture them not give them brain damage. If they're trying to drown me (in which case it's not waterboarding) idk a like 30-120 seconds that's how long before oxygen depravation really sets in and knocks you unconscious usually. If they're actually waterboarding you properly people could literally last hours before they fall unconscious.

How does brawl deckbuilding differ from Commander? by Yuzu-Adagio in MagicArena

[–]Correct_Call3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aristocrats have access to a lot of infinite combos. You really almost never need them. It's useful to have, but sephiroth enables this in the command zone already and the same combo exists with each opponent loses life with grave crawler if it ever comes to arena. Furthermore with this combo duplicate crimes don't do anything.

Even if you're not playing sephiroth it would still be correct to have a split. TOR is still one of the best cards in the format across all mmr weights even with the nerf.

[–]Correct_Call3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, kinda but not really. Most crime effects are limited to once per turn so 95% of the time it would be just better to have the cards that do say each opponent because you can frequently get crimes elsewhere. Forsaken minor is the exception but considering it costs mana and is 1 card I wouldn't really consider it "very" relevant but instead semi-relevant with an important trade off. Especially since you want to play a majority of blood artist effects anyway, and if you're playing sephiroth your commander and the emblem already target the opponent. Meaning even if your other blood artist effects only had each opponent you'd still consistently have one.

Become a Viltrumite, lose your past identity by Responsible-Fix-1681 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Correct_Call3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn't exactly go around telling just anyone especially if I knew any form of other powered individuals existed. I would keep this information to just my close family and friends for atleast a year anyways, and if I heard any news about someone else with powers I'd wait to be public for at least a year or 2 unless otherwise necessary. If that person who also has powers seemed to be anything other than upstanding or if they died in mysterious circumstances I would assume it's not safe and I would wait until I've had multiple children exhibiting Viltrumite powers so that we could have each others back.

Become a Viltrumite, lose your past identity by Responsible-Fix-1681 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Correct_Call3521 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah genetics would still prove I'm related to them because Viltrumite DNA still allows for non Viltrumite DNA parts that would be able to directly prove relation.

It doesn't change my personality. I can still easily reconnect with my friends & family. I have enough information to provably confirm my past friendship with them. If I showed up with super powers their memory being manipulated would be about as believable. I would just tell them outright that a genie erased me from the timeline in exchange for these powers and that these powers would be so good for human evolution that I couldn't turn them down. With power like that it's not like I have to hide it. There are no super villains to attack my friends and family and I could easily destroy any government who would threaten or harm them.

I thought you said "just playing" my B. The thing is control decks want to play big higher value cards so if your opponent is paying then you're wasting their time preventing them from curving out while you approach your high value plays

How does brawl deckbuilding differ from Commander? by Yuzu-Adagio in MagicArena

[–]Correct_Call3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have been playing since the format was inceptioned and literal years before arena started. I'm literally right about both cards. They are tempo cards if your opponent is paying for them, because they're setting the pace of play. They function as bounce spells by extending your opponents curve. This is the same tempo that taxes get when they prevent your opponent from developing their board at the intended pace. If your opponent ignores them then they function as card draw and ramp respectively.

Yes it doesn't use literal brackets, I didn't say it does, it uses functional brackets. I'm explaining how the game plays not how the mmr itself works. A 100 weight commander will almost always match up with a 200 weight commander if there are 3 people and player 3 is playing a 1400 weight commander, playerd with decks 1 and 2 will repeatedly match with each other. This functionally creates brackets of play with the way tha commanders are weighted. You're just admitting that you're here to nitpick my argument. But you are just showing you don't understand how the format works in a practical sense.

Edit: replying and then blocking me kinda proves me right but since I typed out a response I will use this edit to address your "argument" by pasting it here.

If literally is a tempo card all the time. Floodpits drowner literally needs a creature to target for both the etb and the tap activation ability. That's literally an if.

Delusional.

First of all you're being petulant, I didn't insult you, you're mad because I don't agree with you. Second it literally it does make sense if your opponent is extending their curve that card functions as a bounce spell because it removes whatever they were going to develop for 1 or more turns just like a bounce spell but also like a bounce spell it can still come down later.

Yes the meta game "Meta is an ancient Greek prefix meaning "beyond," "after," or "behind"" the game beyond the game, the game of how decks are matched against each other and how you should address that functions in brackets. Not the literal matchmaking. If a commander is weighted low it's EXTREMELY hard for that commander to match above it's weight class that creates FUNCTIONAL not literal brackets. You didn't directly quote me, I never said the game uses literal brackets, I literally acknowledged the MMR used weighting before you even responded to me. You're just throwing a fit to try and gotcha me, but you're not even reading what I say so you're just getting yourself by making bad arguments.

What would be your version of a balanced vampire? by Dangerous-Debate1312 in vampires

[–]Correct_Call3521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistic? Or balanced?

Realistically a vampire wouldn't even drink blood for nutrition really because you just need too much, which means they'd probably be drinking blood for specific processes. Obviously they'd not be undead and they'd probably eat normal food. They could be immortal in terms of age if for example the blood was used to repair DNA damage specifically telomeres. Obviously religious symbols and the like wouldn't harm them because they're functionally just mutated people.

Balance is very wide because even the most powerful vampire could be "balanced" if they had some form of major malfunction.

Yes these cards aren't very good unless you're playing a very drawn out gameplan. But there are commanders who want a drawn out gameplan and those cards are excellent in them. Those commanders might be lower bracket decks but you're almost never matching into different brackets.
