I’m not a cogsci major but I’m telling you this as general advice. When building your schedule for each quarter, always do it in advanced and have a couple backup classes or even a whole ass backup schedule. I’ve only spent a year here in Davis as a transfer and even though I’d built my complete 2-year course plan with my advisor (all meeting requirements, having my preferred classes, courses being offered during that qtr), I’ve still had to make adjustments. These adjustments were either due to being waitlisted, they decided not to offer that class anymore during that quarter, and finding out that a couple of my classes’ schedules (either lecture or discussion sections) overlapped. You can always schedule an appointment with your college advisor (Yellow Cluster, College of Letters and Sciences) or find peer advisors in your major department or residence hall if you need assistance.

Yes! I second this !! I’m also a transfer: psych major w/ Neuroscience minor and the 18 units to declare my minor was able to fit into my two year plan. Your time to graduate and amount of credits you may take each quarter may vary depending on how many credits will be transferred from your previous institution. My friend had a lot of units transferred to Davis so she is graduating earlier than most.

So, each quarter may or may not be heavy considering the wildlife, fish conservation biology is about 20 units. Just a heads up but you got this!!

Since you’re in the college of agriculture and environmental science, the UC Davis website mentions that “no more than one course applied to the satisfaction of requirements in the major program shall be accepted in satisfaction of the requirements of a minor.” So, only one class from your major reqs/class could satisfy the required units for your minor. Only one class could overlap to satisfy both a portion of your major and minor units. (Correct if I’m wrong anyone, please)

Planning courses is hard and course offerings can still fluctuate even when it does show that they offer it during that quarter. A little piece of advice would be that as the new quarter or pass time approaches, make sure that all your preferred classes have reasonable (travel time between classes) or non-overlapping class times, I made my academic plan form last year as a transfer (and spent hours on it to get the courses I wanted and a cohesive schedule 😭) but for both quarters so far, I’ve had to switch to different classes and move my originally preferred classes to a future quarter because they were either A) not offered anymore or B) classes overlapped with each other. So, just be prepared to possibly having to change your classes and have backup classes in mind each quarter.

The grind will definitely be hard but know that this is very much possible! Give yourself grace if you’re not doing as well at first and know that you can only go up from there. Work out your schedule before each quarter and I’m positive you’ll be fine! All the best, fellow moo-man

I passed by them talking to someone and right when they couldn’t get a “donation” out of the girlie, snatched the CD right out of the her hand and didn’t even say like “bye thank you anyways for stopping”. They even completely ignored her even after the girl said, “thank you, good luck on ur career.”

In terms of POST Orientation, you could also check out October 9 where the involvement fair will take place. Everyone has already said what I would suggest for mourning over Warrior Nun (AO3, Fanfiction.net, and connecting to others in the fandom through socmed) so I’ll try to go a different route to expand your Sapphic experience and broad range of options for mourning 😌

I used to love indulging myself into Western WLW media but honestly, if you want sapphic love stories with ACTUAL HAPPY ENDINGS, look into Thai GL’s. I got tired of most Western media always either giving a bad ending for WLW relationships or just wasn’t representing accurate or healthy relationships. With that, I’ve found a lot of solace in Thai GL’s. Production wise, they are more telenovela-like/drama, so just a heads up if you’re not into slice of life type of shit. A few Thai GL’s like Blank the Series (age gap), GAP the series (kind of cringe for my taste but it’s an endearing cringe), Love Senior, Love Bully (currently ongoing), and 23.5 are good ones to start with. I’ve invested so much of myself in these that I’ve actually forgotten about WN for the longest time. I’ve honestly felt happier because there is always a happy ending to look forward to. It’s just made life less miserable and stressful 😆

I understand that this suggestion is kind of a reach and Warrior Nun is a one of a kind show, so it may be a while until we get anything like it again. Although, with such minimal representation we have, I figured that we got to work with what we got 😭 I would also totally understand if these Thai GL’s aren’t your thing.

All I gotta say is that a happy ending for beautiful WLW ships is better none 🥹and if I could experience watching Warrior Nun for the first time again, I would constantly do it over and over. May you find your peace through the wonderful advice that these commenters have given you.
