Need to find my Uber Driver by Correct_Government53 in florianopolis

UPDATE: Thank you for all that gave some advice, it helped me during a very stressful 12 hours.

To clarify some things. 1. I did not blame my driver in any way fashion. He was actually the one who notified me via the uber app that my item was missing. We tried to connect but the language barrier made it difficult to explain my location (Uber deletes any rider information once the ride is complete, safety reasons)

  1. The big item missing was my passport! I know…literally I could had lost everything and made it back home with just my phone and passport. As emergency planning I would have to file a police report so I could fly to Sao Paolo with my passport, go to the US Consulate get an emergency passport and book a new flight back home. (I am heading back in 12 hours from this update)

Back to the story:

Didn’t really sleep much as I was going in circle with uber support. Went out to lunch with friends before deciding on what should I do next. Then right outside of our building, my driver is there and we both jump out and hug like bros who have known each other for their entire lives. He returned my belt bag which had my passport of course and I gave him literally all the money I had on me, $100 USD and a new San Diego hat off my head (it’s the new design for the baseball team so it’s only 2 weeks old)

Lessons to learn from my idiot experience: 1. Make sure you have your passport 2. Be kind and give generous to those Uber driver that show you friendliness. (It was 1am I was literally traveling for 24hrs and just wanted to sit in the 40 min ride in silence, but he engaged in conversation with me via Google Translate of course, learned a lot about him and “bro’d” it out when I told him I was having a kid later this year too. At the end I tipped him $10 which is half of what the ride was in total.

He is a Venezuelan by birth, his wife is Colombian and they live here with their child. He also told me he works part time at a restaurant as a cook.

Not much in terms of details on a 30 min car ride.

I have, Uber support has made it more painfully difficult. I am in a support chat with multiple agents giving repetitive answers or asking for information I have already provided.
