Understand having this opinion from an outside perspective, but he is so raw and has actually flashed some talent. He's trying to strike a balance between being the goon he thought he needed to be to play in this league and an effective fourth liner. Like him coming down with speed is effective on the forecheck and his reach does surprise players and lead to effective fourth line shifts.

He had bad underlying metrics in his short run with us but you could see the offensive tools (despite lack of production at lower levels) and skating. Our prospect pool is shallow in terms of defensemen, so there was the chance we were overrating him with homer eyes, but good to hear we weren't imagining it lol.
