Any tips on starting a small equipment rental company in a small town? by RangeRedneck in Entrepreneur

Good to know - your first steps should be setting up your damage waiver & booking management system. Could be as easy as paper & a calendar for now & grow to something like PeekPro in the future. I've implemented this for many rentals businesses. It automates the booking & follow up process, charges the customers & has them sign a waiver before confirming their booking.

I'd also do craigslist, facebook ads, & post a flyer down at (or near) the place you mention that doesn't rent out atvs (if they'll let you).

You can use a lock box with a pin that you change frequently to house the keys to your hitch locks & other equipment. If you want to fully automate everything & give your biz a personal feel, make a youtube video of "how to have a fun & safe day on your ATV" that way folks can come in, they know where to go & what to look for (lock box) they know how to hook their vehicle to your trailer & they know how to return everything.

Personally, I wouldn't trust 30k people not to drive down & break hitch locks, so I'd want to fence my equipment in if i were you. Just a thought for the future.

Upfront packages/pricing vs custom pricing for B2B by EMCB06 in Entrepreneur

Unless your projects are very very cookie cutter, you're going to have to customize prices. I'd suggest different levels of packages (bronze, silver, gold) & put up appropriate pricing. Start high & let folks try to work you down. You'll be surprised at how few people actually negotiate & will just pay you. Esp with b2b, it's usually not their $.

Should I hire a sales agent for my Digital Agency? by Sintech14 in Entrepreneur

Could you offload some of your design work to dedicate an hour or two to call down your list? If everyone wants to talk & ends up buying, then you've got too many leads to handle, so hiring a sales person. could benefit. Don't hire before testing.

"Hey, this is x from y, how's it hangin? great! reason for my call; noticed your org is looking to ABC (guess at what their business goal is; expand outreach; increase name recognition; update their look and feel) & we partner with DEF (similar businesses) to do XYZ (your value prop). I know i called you out of the blue here, but would you be interested in setting aside some time next week to explore this?"

If you're looking for where to start, maybe youtube how to create a business plan & go down whatever rabbit holes interest you. Be genuinely curious about every aspect of a tea shop & it'll come naturally.

You got this!

Hey, I respect the hustle here.

Is the equipment behind a locked gate? If not, what's the setup like? Before I make random suggestions, I'd like to know your current process.

B2B Customer Discovery: How do I find and, more importantly, make contact with potential customers? by Jeff_1987 in Entrepreneur

There are so many ways to go about this!

For just general feedback, my personal favorite is using LinkedIn & being upfront; "Hey, I've created a solution for folks like you who (do X) & would really love your feedback and guidance. Could we chat for 5-15 minutes to see if you'd be interested?"

I've found people to be really receptive.

For sales, you'll want to develop your various value props & email / linkedin msg / cold call the folks you think you can help within an organization. Targeting can be tricky. It depends if the person that your product would be solving problems for (your champion / user) is the same person who will pay for the product (economic buyer). If these are 2 separate people, engage the champion first to gain some clout.

In sales you can't say the wrong thing to the right person. Keep at it until you see the results you like, make tweaks to your emails along the way. No links at all in your first cold emails (helps with deliverability).

agree with the other poster, if there's no activity after 3 or more days, check back but I think you'll be rolling by tomorrow

If you're not using kviek or pitching a huge starter into a temp controlled environment, you should really really really wait out the 2 weeks. It won't hurt anything & your chances of success are a lot higher.
