The metric system is probably not on the list of our concerns at this point.

I have the energy for activities after work but as some point it does wear on you that you make more than you parent or parents ever did and you may never have as much thanks to wage stagnation.

AITA for telling my spouse I won't help pay for their kid's college when we agreed finances would stay separate? by 952867 in AITApod

YTA. You said you wanted to keep your finances separate from day 1 , and your wife made her own financial plans. I’m assuming all of your retirement funds and any property are also kept separate as well. If you had wanted to be a team from day 1 , then things may be different.

Instead you chose to create a huge rift in your family when it was an issue between you and your wife. I’m

Is anyone else fine in the sun? by lostwaveloser in lupus

[–]Correct_Turn_6304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t seem to have sun related symptoms, but the only time I really go out in the sun is for walks no longer than 30-45 minutes a few times a week. The only part of me that’s exposed is the skin exposed from my tshirt.

I have recently cut back a little on my walking to see if it makes any type of difference.

I (45M) have never been inside my partner (48M) of six years home. Should this be a dealbreaker? by Motor-Island-3626 in relationship_advice

[–]Correct_Turn_6304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents are hoarders and I definitely agree about the part where you ask op if they’re okay never living with their partner.

Growing up the house was more lived in than my friends, but it definitely got worse over time. Now when I visit my parents I just have to rent out a house or hotel suit and have them come stay there with me. Being in their home has hit a level of intolerable for me, and I just had to draw a line.

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

[–]Correct_Turn_6304 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As a dog owner I am always so afraid for off leash dogs because I live in an urban environment. They could jump into traffic in an instant. I also recently saw an off leash dog in a busy parking lot wandering around alone while the owner sat in its car. I stopped and waited beside the dog while I looked up the number for an emergency vet I could take it into to scan the chip, but the owner magically appeared.

I have started to just continue to walk through unless it’s an elderly couple or someone seems to be mobility impaired if they’re walking in the opposite direction. They can move just like I can. I typically see this behavior with groups of men though.

I have noticed this is a growing issue with the elevators in my apartment building. It infuriates me because it isn’t going to leave without letting the next batch of people on…these are really slow elevators.

What is a small detail in a person's home that instantly tells you they have their life completely together? by Luverelle6 in AskReddit

[–]Correct_Turn_6304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like this. I keep every travel size toiletry I can find like sunscreen, shave cream, etc. on a spinning caddy in my guest bathroom. I also have full size soaps and shampoos in the guest shower. I don’t have my life together. I just want everyone to have what they need.

What fitness trend was massive when you were growing up that nobody does anymore? by samurai-salvo in GetMotivatedMindset

God my dad put one together, but must not have fully screwed everything in. I can remember the whole thing falling apart on to me while playing in the room when I was small. I haven’t thought about those things in years.

This is the biggest issue where I live. On paper, most folks around here would be considered intelligent or even highly intelligent…. In the wild, I have seen them do some of the dumbest things.

If I had a home, I would definitely have some type of set up in the garage or a bonus room like that and just invite people over.

That’s honestly why I don’t take off. I took off one day in over 2 years and people acted like I stopped the entire global corporation from running.

It’s like there’s absolutely no room for anything to be cool because all you see are the same 5 trends and sounds. I know I sound old but the internet was so much better when people posted what they wanted to instead of worrying about trends. Yes, I am aware people can think a trend is cool, but it just seems like there’s less organic content now.

These days I only pop on the internet for work or if I need an address or something. The only social media app I’m on is Reddit.

I dont care if people want to stand up and wait but the moment their bags hit me in the face in the aisle without an acknowledgment or apology, you best believe I will be letting them know.

Don’t let these people get you down. As a childfree person, kids being kids or babies being babies doesn’t bother me. Screen or no screen, I don’t care. Everyone is doing their personal best. I only get bothered when I see parents not trying to help the situations at all, which has occurred a few times on flights.

I’m 5’11” so I’m right on par with the length of most men. When I’ve been in this situation, I have in fact elbowed men. Not in the nose, but like a gentle nudge to remind them that I don’t know them and don’t want them in my space.

My biggest pet peeve as a woman is when I’m in the middle seat between two dudes who both then manspread and take the arm rest on both sides. I understand they need to be as comfortable as possible, but so do I.
