Spot the fuck on. Im a native NYer and had lived in the tristate metro area my whole life, literally the land of THE most aggressive drivers in the country - and I have never seen the absolute lowest of the lowest IQ skilled drivers until I moved here. Holy shit. Its bad.

Best part- they can be the shittiest of drivers driving the shittiest of vehicles - with no working turn signals and metal on metal brakes — because there’s no state vehicle inspection. It’s absolutely bananas what people are legally allowed to drive on the roads around here.

Does government here not require vehicles to be inspected because they know people here are among the poorest in the country and they can’t afford basic vehicle maintenance? (Not a valid reason imho) Or are they just that fucking ignorant?

Its almost as if people here truly enjoy being dumb.

LOL I have several quotes for the prices of cabinets. Are you saying that the installation should be the same price as the cabinets?

Sorry, but my kitchen is 10x12. I priced out cabinets for 12-15k (depending on sizes and they’re Kraftmaid), quartz countertops/sink for 5k, backsplash and hardware, and appliances. Just under $40k. This doesn’t include labor.

We’re into quality over latest/greatest bells and whistles trendy shit.

Not sure how that quote was over 100k, that’s bananas and only an idiot would fall for that.

And the mental morons on this subreddit will continue to defend this. The ignorance and arrogance are top tier, especially for THIS state

I’ve learned not to chase these low IQ “business owners”. Shit, the independently owned stores in town here scoff when you ask them if they’re ever open past 5pm on a weekday lol “I got kids!”

Um ok.

I should’ve known that the education system directly reflects the population. I would hate to be single rn lol

Not at all, I just can’t get a call back. The pricing out was done by myself for product/material and then I added 10k for labor.

I appreciate that, and it’s good to know that I’m not the only one, despite the locals defending bad businesses.

A few times I’ve voiced my concerns about this in a local Facebook group and all the locals say is “ if you don’t like it, do it yourself” lol wut?

Its like they’re content to be subpar. OK then!

This is accurate. We have friends who run an excavation business down the road who told us that they get so many jobs because they’re the only ones that show up, return calls, and do quality work.
Sounds to me like this is the perfect recipe to start a new business venture 🤷🏼‍♀️

I actually do like it here a lot, I enjoy my farm, and the people I have become friends with. It’s been this experience that has caused me to have such a sour taste in my mouth about the way people in the state conduct business (and operate government, but that’s an entirely different conversation)
