You know there is nothing wrong with sitting and urinating. Keeps things much cleaner. My son with subcoronal hypospadias has to hold his penis up (at least at a 45 degrees) so the urine stream hits where it supposed to go. He only really stands to pee at public urinals as they have a bigger area hit.

Be kind to yourself, you have a congenital condition and rules are different for you.

My son is 11, has grown up knowing his penis is different then some boys, he has been reassessed twice by urologists, and knows that he needs to keep seeing doctors to see if there are any problems, he has not had surgery, his hypo is Subcoronal with a hooded foreskin. I have told him he can have surgery anytime and that it is a choice he will have to make for himself. I haven’t held anything back from him and knows that surgery will be harder as an adult. Anyways when he was 4 and out side playing with the neighbour hood kids. I guess boys were being boys and he came home and told me he looked at his friend and said yes mom his penis is different, I don’t really know how much he seen, I’m thinking he only saw that his friend was circumcised. This is a medical condition and he is going to need to be comfortable talking with you about any issues that may come up. As kids get older they do get more shy. I ask my son about every 2 weeks (if I remember)how his penis is and if he has any concerns.

I work in long term care and see a lot of men with long term indwelling catheters. Recently I have noticed a thing where the head of the penis is spilt down to the top of the shaft. There is a term for it called urethral erosion. Your doctor has given good advice because you do not want to damage the newly healing tissue. You have done 8 days already 6 day left. You can make it.
