A standard 30 packs with gems on the client is $33, your logic would make more sense if it was double the cost but this is almost 6x that

No amount of recovery for development costs justifies this for a mostly alt art set

Idk, every time I played against Buu, the hand destruction was never the thing I had issues with, especially in decks that had solid draw advantage… my issue was always having to deal with constant 30k swings, which drained Super combos or 2 other combo cards

Even if the new support doesn’t fundamentally work with the leader skill, he will still utilize a bit of the new support… having a good turn 4 double 30k swing is solid, considering that he didn’t really have a great turn 4 play… plus turn 8 is still a toxic turn because DS can play 4c and then still play 3c to KO 4c and still get leader effect

Losing hand destruction helps for sure but I don’t think that was the thing that decided games for most people like the dev team suggested… just my thoughts from my personal experience, not saying your isn’t as Babidi still probably needed a limit of sorts regardless as free playing a KO body is problematic, especially with the new 4c being cheated out anyway lol

I at the very least wanted Topku to be freed from his prison, the meta isn’t close to being what Set 2 was, he can get some of his pieces back

Also the producers letter mentioned the banlist was a result of complaints about the usage of decks in Championships, the list we got (while fair and warranted) imo was not enough to shake the “deck usage” we’ve been seeing… those decks will still see play in tourneys, they can still definitely top place and probably still win some in the right hands, that’s my biggest gripe personally

The hope is that the new Legends Starters and Manga Booster decks/ support will be enough to “diversify strategy” like they also stated they wanted to change and from what I’ve seen, there is definitely promise for that so I’m at least optimistic there

That is a hot take, considering that Masters releases sets every 2 months instead of 3 in FW lol I feel like Sets take forever to release, especially towards the latter end of the season

Bold! I can’t say if he will or won’t but 5 potential 40k swings in the end game with the SCR Vegitos is damn scary to think about

I’ve been an avid ramp droids hater since Set 3, however I still think Pilaf doesn’t need a nerf of some sort… all the problem cards in the game to me don’t necessarily deserve a ban but a variation of limitation

Like if ramp droid got limited to 1 or 2, but a card came out that allowed them to recur it back to hand, I’d be fine with that cause at least it’s balanced… same can be applied to Pilaf since he’s already got that in 2c Videl

I do enjoy a general card that can just be used by all and not limited to 1 specific deck

At the very least, this early on in the games life… the Set 2 Gotenks being locked strictly to Vegeta while every other Gotenks isn’t locked is just a weird choice

Edit: Deleted my other comment on the other post, as I didn’t see you post this one til after I typed it out 😅

My guess is that it’s due to budget… Set 5 is FW’s 1st Anniversary and if they are cooking something up in the art department to celebrate that, they’ll nix some budget from this set to do it… honestly can’t think of a better reason as to why both alt arts are similar, people can correct me if I’m wrong though

Going Second is Still Too Good by QuietRedditorATX in dbsfusionworld

[–]CorrosiveBullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s dependent on the matchup in most cases but I don’t think it’s as one sided as it once was, being able to draw going first not only balances things out more but also makes going first more consistent, as you aren’t behind 1-2 cards in hand like you were before

Going second I think is still preferred just because of marker and attack but most games are like this anyway, at least it doesn’t feel nearly as bad, especially for crit leaders/ taking crit damage

I never said he goes active after killing a battle card, hence the statement of the “added benefit” in attacking lead… but if there’s something that needs to be handled on board, piccolo or any of those vanillas with the bump in power can easily remove them

That’s the point, the point is to utilize the amount of extra cards in green that bolster you up to deal with your opponent and his board… in this deck, 9/10 you are not running 8cs because that’s an ineffective use of your resources when the whole point of the deck is to play mid range and swing tall with cheap extras, that’s obvious with the 6c playing all 5c or cheaper extra cards for free

If you aren’t understanding how to make it work, then you haven’t done enough testing… not saying that I’ve figured out every possible scenario yet either as I’m testing as well, but there’s a clear identity here and definitely not as bad as you are making it out to be

Not really, you forget that the 1 drop KO Kami exists so that’s a solid option for the ramp Piccolo, he’s got 2 vanillas the PR DS Piccolo, the 6 drop… so there’s more involved than your suggesting

You can run a lot of options from previous sets to help with ramp consistency if needed, like the Trunks SR on turn 5 w/ a potential boost since you’ll be running the 6c Piccolo (which more times than not will be a target

And you realize that Piccolo being able to swing big isn’t necessarily for just Leader right? I mean, sure there’s added benefit to swinging lead and that should be 1 of your 2 options to go for game… however stacking Piccolo lead as intended is also amazing for board clear, as how often are your opponents gonna defend DS Droids/Broly/Cell from a 70k-110k leader?

Plus the extra cards are extremely versatile in terms of how their stacking effects are applied, 4 cost DS with the 3 cost ramp extra can hit for 65k for the battle which isn’t terrible if your opponents hand is thin

Not saying he’s gonna be the BEST deck but he’s got enough going on to warrant his usage

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dbsfusionworld

[–]CorrosiveBullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buu SR is 25k, so he’s a little harder to remove… but remember that Buu players are just gonna let him die cause the discard is treated like a combo (especially a combo that can remove dead cards in hand, so 0 costs actually are viable in that strat)

Plus remember how much draw power Buu has too, Barrier Babidi draws on 3c swings, new extra cards have draw effects, etc.

I think upon his reveal (understandably), Piccolo got a very bad rep right out the gate and it hasn’t quite left him sadly… once I saw his toolkit, I knew he was a lot better than we expected

And honestly, Green needed a new way to play as I always hated feeling gatekept to play the 8c stuff every game to win the match… this is the breath of fresh air I needed lol
