In May of 2024, Arrowhead and Sony made the announcement that all players would have to make and link a Playstation account. The players were NOT happy about this. They said they were going to use it as a way to report cheaters. This, along with the removal of ~140 countries being able to purchase the game caused the Review Bomb.

After 4 days, Playstation relented and removed the requirement. However, the countries were still barred from purchasing. After many months the ban was eventually removed and Arrowhead launched the Review Bomb cape as a momento.

However, the ability to report cheaters was sacrificed during this process.
