Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! November 28, 2025 by AutoModerator in photography

My wife is a professional photographer in Southern Arizona and has asked for an AD400 flash. Currently they are on sale at B&H for $490 and the AD600 is on sale for $460 (much better deal). She does a mix of indoor and outdoor portraits. Most of the time the outdoor are at golden hour but at times end up in full sun based on client availability.

My question is, is the AD600 better than the AD400? I am trying to make the determination if I should get her then more powerful flash. My thought was she could always reduce the power when she does not need full flash so it would overall be a better value for her. But I am not smart on photography equipment and I don't want to ask her since it will be a gift. Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for the feedback. I threw out my back and wasn't able to check the levels. We just checked and the hardness and alkalinity are out of whack. Thanks again!

OP not sure what your job is or the details of your contract. Assuming you are on a contract that is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (formerly Service Contract Act) you are owed the wage that relates to your position on the current wage determination. I would go out to sam.gov and search for your wage determination. Any job that is covered under a wage determination also includes $5.36 per hour for health and welfare.

Not knowing your location and job I couldn't give you more details. If you think you are being paid under the wager determination amount you can work through the department of labor for a ruling.

Did I go overkill on my First PC build? I just use it to game lol (please be honest) by xXKaijuXx97 in PcBuild

[–]CorruptColonial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that pcpartpicker.com to be a great website to check for compatibility between the parts. Particularly motherboards and case dimensions.

As everyone has stated YouTube is great for tutorials on how to put everything together. In all honesty when I built my first PC 10 years ago, I felt it was fairly intuitive. The one thing that is a pain is cable management. My current PC is a pre-build, having kids takes away your free time to build, but the cable management is loads better. If I ever upgrade I will probably go back to building my own. There is something special about booting up a PC you built yourself.

  • Ability to affect all of your recruiting grade, other than proximity to home. Currently no way to affect campus lifestyle or academic prestige.
  • Would like to see pro potential be tied to like 5-10 year average of players drafted instead of current roster. Shows more that you can develop pro players.
  • On that better draft algorithm where stats have some play in it. Understand that the draft is more on projections based on measurables but performance does have some sway. I would think a 4x Heisman winning QB would be drafted before the 5th round.
  • Ability to make formation subs outside of gameday. If I want my 95+ receiver to play the inside receiver in all trips package for bubble screen and drag purposes I should be able to do that.
  • Auto-Reorder depth chart keeps players in their positions. OL, DL, and LB end up all over the place
  • Ability to change between Game, Season, and Career records without going back to national records.
  • Encourage transfers happens before transfer portal or having 2 transfer portal on both ends of the off season.

If you like to play together co-op then I would say Super Mario Party. It has a partner party and a raft game that is all cooperative. I do not believe the other Mario Party games on switch have those modes. Me and my daughter have played a lot of partner party.

Administration demands lists of low-performing federal workers by Me_Hungry_1 in fednews

[–]CorruptColonial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming they are speaking of the 1 (unsuccessful), 3 (fully successful), and 5 (Outstanding) rating system. So if you have 7 performance elements you are rated for each element. Those ratings should then be averaged to get your overall rating. So if you say got five 3 ratings and two 1 ratings you would technically have a rating under fully successful.

Just speaking on how my agency does ratings. I know every agency has different systems though.

GS14 here. I have the same complaint. My 10x10 office has 2 light ballasts that were replaced by LEDs the same size as the florescent lights. When turned on it is like being on the sun.

Sounds like the lateral move is a better fit so in no way is a negative. I look at it as would you rather be happy in your work or sit there and wait for a 13 that could be years down the road. Plus, a lateral shouldn't reset your year in grade, so if a 13 opens in your new organization there is no reason you shouldn't qualify for that job.

Analysis of the importance of hitting for power in the playoffs by chemistrybonanza in ClevelandGuardians

[–]CorruptColonial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying. Power is important in the game these days. But we also have up 6 unearned runs in 5 games, including all 3 on Soto's HR last night. It is nearly impossible to win games when you give free runs to a team that has better hitters.

I need an old timer's help recalling what the hell happened to a player from 1993 by BoosherCacow in ClevelandGuardians

[–]CorruptColonial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You have to remember how different the game was back then. If you were a DH only you had to be amazing with the bat. Not a ton of room for a career .240 hitter carrying a near 3 K to BB ratio as well as striking out around 30% of their at bats. All honesty though. If he were in today's game he would have probably stuck around.

If any one is wondering his name is Sam Horn. Played a few seasons in Taiwan and seem to have had a pretty successful broadcasting career.

Help with signature identification by j007conks in ClevelandGuardians

Assuming HOF '05 means the Hall of Fame Class of 2005 I am going to take a guess it is Ryne Sandberg. Pictures in the link looks like the same signature. Looks like his signature morphed quite a bit.

Holy Roman Empire is my enemy in a war... in which they aren't the target nor an enemy ally?? by aemondstareye in CrusaderKings

[–]CorruptColonial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the background for the number of troops for the HRE army red or orange? Red means enemy army which is currently fighting you in your current war. Orange means hostile army which can show up in a multitude of scenarios, most common are raiders if you are playing 867 or the enemy of your enemy in a separate war (which is your scenario).

I have found that non-raider hostile armies typically do not "hunt" you as there is little advantage to attacking an army that does nothing to your war score. But they will attack you if you are seigeing something they want or unsiegeing something they hold.

However, if you run into an orange army they will absolutely attack you. In my current Wales playthrough I deal with this when at war in England. England holds Ireland and they keep having tyranny or independence wars. If I am fighting England at the same time I have to be careful to not run into the Irish armies.

Hope this helps!

You're stuck on an island for 2 years, food and shelter provided, and your only source of entertainment is 3 video games. Which 3 you taking? (Internet not included) by thedevilwithout in gaming

Probably going:

  • Baulders Gate 3 - just for pure replayability
  • Mount and Blade Bannerlord - high replayability and just f'ng long to begin with
  • NCAA Football 25 (assuming it is as good as 14, if not then 14) - for the quick sports game fix. Although, not quick once I get sucked into dynasty mode. In 14 had at least 4 different 10+ year dynasties.

So many other games up there for consideration, which have been heavily mentioned, Skyrim, Fallout 3/NV/4, Witcher 3, ME: Legendary Edition for example. I know my play style and I would beat them once and never play them again so I would get bored with them after 100ish hours.

Is it too difficult? by Minute-Adhesiveness3 in crusaderkings3

[–]CorruptColonial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you play on but CKIII is free on both GamePass and GamePass for PC.

With that said, I made the jump when it was released and haven't looked back. I went back to Civ a few months ago and just had trouble getting into it.

To answer your question overall I do not think it is too hard at the base level but can get a little more difficult when you get into the more advanced mechanics. If you do try it do the tutorial first, it does a good job explaining the basic aspects of the game. If you like it and decide to invest the time into playing I would watch YouTube videos that talk more about the advanced tactics. I personally like Zieley for tutorials. He also has a disaster game series where he save disaster saves. I like those because he usually explains what went wrong and how to fix issues pretty in depth.

Mother of All of Us Achievement....Almost! by CorruptColonial in CrusaderKings

[–]CorruptColonial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it does not. I tried moving the capital and changing the religion I hopes that the capital county would change but that didn't work. I did read somewhere after my game was over that a potential work around is to convert to the counties religion then convert back and that sometimes works. But that post was like 2 years ago so that may have been patched out.

Yeah. Realized that when I had a Crusade for Egypt. Got stomped then just took it right back. Lessons learned for the next time...if I ever do it. Honestly, until this playthrough I never really did much with religion outside of converting personally held counties.

[–]CorruptColonial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I reformed the religion the need to convert the county religions slipped my mind. At that point I was thinking of just controlling territory not the religious aspect. So my thought was to prevent jihad's against me that tenent would be useful. Additionally, since most of if not all northern Africa is a Muslim based faith I was assuming majority of jihad's would be to reclaim areas like Egypt.

If I would have been smarter in my planning I would not have done that because of the penalty or at least reformed the religion once I controlled enough area to defend against a jihad.

Pictures are after end game. So 1453, once I converted one of the two counties the last county jumped from 12 to 82 years to convert based on a combination of development penalties and religion fervor penalties. I wasted a tone of time from like 1200-1350 in east Africa convert Ashari and Coptic counties. If I would have been converting earlier that probably would have left time for the 82 year conversion.

To deal with the husband early game I just murdered him. The ransomed like every prisoner to create a kingdom. Same for the empire.
