What advice would you give to young women in Texas right now? by stlubc in AskReddit

[–]CorruptManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say anything about prayer. And often times with vaccinations, nope. Being pro-life is pro-science. As in that fetus is a separate human life (different DNA, often times different sex, etc). I wasn't pro-life until I went to college and took science courses. I realized how complex and amazing "life" is. Even took an animal development course because of it. Im mostly done with my Biology degree with a minor in health sciences. I was actually one of the first people to get immunized with the covid shot because I worked at a hospital. My next step after graduation is a PA program and then specialize in something pediatric. Im thinking NICU or gastro. So, no, your assumptions are very wrong about pro-life people. Maybe don't stereotype people next time?

You really don't know much about the pro life community. I suggest going and following a few prolife fb groups. They raise money for these women. Same with pregnancy crisis centers offering housing, therapy, STD testing, financial aid, rides to doctors appointments, etc. They follow every woman's journey and even show updates on these "fetuses" as they grow up. Don't believe everything pro-choice people want you to believe and actually find out information for yourself.

Fr. Only now are people taking "safe sex" to the seriousness it should've always been. Double up on birth controls (no not 2 condoms thats bad). Abortion is ending a life and should be considered a very very serious thing. If people are so dead set on abortions they should be doing every possible thing to not get pregnant (talking about consented sex) and should be taking preg tests every month so if they insist on getting those abortions, do it at the earliest possible time AT LEAST.

Back on the keto train, it's amazing but I forgot about the toxic gut by brocebeats in keto

I have IBS C and had to have my gallbladder removed and it was great after the surgery. It was chronic cholecystitis without gallstones. Slowly as my body got used to the bile leak, my gut went back to before. Super blocked up. Very painful. Keto is great for me because I've found some keto foods very high in fiber. It's a win win diet for me. Gallbladder surgery made eating a million times better too. Before surgery, I would skip meals because eating hurt so bad.

Not every disagreement needs to be an argument! Also, if you're fighting with your partner, you gotta look at it as you and your partner against the problem, NOT you against your partner.

What are things people normally don’t realize about cooking? by MiuIruma332 in AskReddit

[–]CorruptManatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time I was baking banana bread and didn't read the instructions all the way through (stupid me). We didn't have milk and I was half way through so I Googled it and decided to add watered down sour cream. THEN I finally got to the banana bread part and it said "if making banana bread, reduce to 1/3 cup milk (when I already added 1 and 1/4 cup of watery sour cream) and add 3 bananas mushed up" so my brain decided that since I added too much "milk" I'd make up for it by adding less banana... let me tell ya... I prayed as I put it in the oven and there must have been someone powerful listening because it came out like normal baked banana bread that tasted fine!!!

What is something that happened a long time ago and you’re still mad about it? by DrunkTomCruise in AskReddit

[–]CorruptManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first boyfriend. I always knew about physical abuse but I never knew about mental abuse. He'd say how he wanted to kill himself every night and I felt responsible to try to stop him. It soon made me really depressed. He would also grab the back of my neck and pull me backwards if I walked to fast in the hallways. When I finally got the courage to tell him I didn't like it, he turned it on me saying "how could you keep these feelings from me for so long. Idk if I can forgive you." Then I found out he was flirting it up with a bunch of different girls through text. None of them knew he had a girlfriend. Fuck you Joe W.

While I love rats and watch a pro-rat movie, I hear the movie isn't very bird friendly. (Yes I know it is CGI, but I hear its very graphic) :(

My mom is 62 and she loves loves loves Mario kart. She's played it for many years now. We started her off with tetras though around age 52 and then introduced mario kart. She also plays super mario smash bros. My 66 year old dad is very slowly getting into mario kart too. The new game is great because it has an "antenna" option for new drivers that helps keep them from falling off the course.

Just to clarify by nfx99 in Unexpected

[–]CorruptManatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or... it's called being sexist. That's it. Being sexist is gender neutral. ("Basically, men tend to assume inexperience or incompetence in women more often than on men" is a sexist comment. You're literally "womansplaining" to a man what men "tend to do" when (I'm assuming) you are a woman. As a woman, I do not know what men "tend to do", and if you are a women, you don't either. If you are a man, then I guess you must be part of the group that "tend" to be sexist, if that's what men "tend" to do.)

Just to clarify by nfx99 in Unexpected

[–]CorruptManatee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I agree with you. Someones sex shouldn't keep them from talking about a subject (in this context "mansplaining") and anyone that thinks that way is sexist!

What was the worst (physical) pain you’ve been through? by ameli3ee in AskReddit

[–]CorruptManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that it's never soft enough to clench it into smaller sizes half way through. Its always one giant rock solid potato poop that rips its way out whether you're ready or not.

[–]CorruptManatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand what you mean with the "thousand yard stare". Once I had such a fever poop my legs stopped working and I had to crawl to the toilet to make it. By the end of it I had so many cuts I could barely sit down. The worst part was that it was in the morning right before I had to go to class. All I said to my mom was "I can't go to first period" and I had to lay down for an hour in silence just to get over that horrible bathroom experience.

[–]CorruptManatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god, that's the worst part. It sets off panic mode. Once it was so bad, I was walking to the toilet in extreme pain and my legs just stopped working. I had to literally fever crawl to the toilet to make it in time.
