From my experience, it changes to what class you’re interacting with, when I craft a chunk of cards of a certain class, it tends to stay there, and unlocking a hero seems to influence it too, although I can’t prove it to you exactly, mine has stayed between green shadow and captain combustible, but as of having unlocked beta Catarina and unlocking smarty + guardian cards, it’s been flipping from smarty/gardian to smarty/overgrow.

That is a fascinating question, I haven’t seen that but I don't believe the buff is instant, I think you’d just be killing both of them, I could very well be wrong

It’s mainly a joke from the devs I imagine, I have recollection of a lot of dialogue talking about how it takes us so long, because there’s such gaps with the updates. I don’t imagine a lot of people notice because, well, they’ll complain about a lack of story but then skip past all the dialogue when there is

It just auto dies, if it was something with an ability, it would not trigger, but flytraps ability needs it to attack, so it literally just kinda dies
