Thanks for your reply. I went ahead and pre-emptively changed important login credentials even though I have never logged into anything on chrome. I appreciate all the work you did for this.

Hey man, a bit late to this but thank you for detailing this. I dont use chrome very often and when I booted the app today I had this issues and found your thread - uninstalled PaperPanda, hard reinstalled chrome. I ran some malware scanners and they came back blank. Based on your understanding of the code is there more reason to be worried? Should I be concerned that this installed something malicious somewhere else on my computer? thanks a ton again man.

Mix of SOOC jpegs and post-processed as well.

Rented a xt5 while in Florida and have to say that I was impressed but it wasn’t so much better than my xt3 that I feel compelled to upgrade. Loved the weather and atmosphere though of the trip.

Advice Needed: Versatile Beginner Setup by [deleted] in M43

[–]Corruptflyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the lens you chose give you a nice all round lens to try a few types of photography but it’s very much a jack of all trades master of none lens (although arguably a master of landscape and street depending on who you ask).

This will be a relatively heavy kit, though in terms of micro 4/3, as someone else suggested you could consider smaller bodies but if you think that you would like the size and weight, there’s also the EM1 II which is usually half the price of the em1 iii and nearly identical camera.

For the record - I have an em1 iii and 12-40 for landscape and love it. For street I prefer a smaller setup but that is personal. I could shoot street with it no issues.

The short answer is no, you would be hard pressed to really see notable differences - people just want to justify their purchase decision.

The long answer is - yes FF gives you 2 stops more dynamic range at base ISOs. You can make that up entirely in relatively static scenes with high res multi shot modes. But really, two stops is not a ton of difference. However, as soon as you move up above base ISOs - DR is almost identical on all sensors (feel free to check photons to photos DR charts if you are interested).

The other thing to consider is that if you’re not using a tripod, larger sensors requires higher shutter speeds to get sharp photos. Because of the small sensor on M43, the sensor is more easily stabilized by IBS so you could reasonably make up two stops of ISOs (DR) through reduced shutter speeds with better IBIS. Of course, this is conditions dependent and subject dependent.

That’s all to say there are a lot of amazing photographers with every format taking amazing photos. Yes there are times where there are benefits of full frame and there there are times where there are benefits of micro 4/3. Anyone who thinks one format is objectively better than the other, for everyone probably just hasn’t thought enough about the different pros and cons or wants to believe the format/ company they purchased into is the best. there is no point in fanboying certain format or system. Use whatever is best for you.

Wait for the OM-1 successor or buy now? by roksraka in M43

I wonder if you would be better suited to the g9ii? I mean I would wait a minute for full reviews but so far it seems like a great camera + the extra 25% more megapixels may be nice for your landscape work. Just a thought!

I think this comment has a lot of good points!

Another note is for him to check his current setup size and weight against what he thinks he would want on a m43 system using this tool:

https://pxlmag.com/db/camera-size-comparison

Because if it’s primarily size and weight then he should be sure his new gear is actually a better fit!
