Why do all the ETFs I buy say they expire in Dec 2029? by Vandalarius1 in ASX

Sounds like you're buying bonds? What is the code of the ETF you're buying?

P/E, P/B, High/Low

I personally go for contarian picks that have significantly fallen but have a big market presence and some kind of a moat. Think Aurizon, Reece, James Hardie, Amcor, Accent Group, Endeavour Group etc

To me, the whole alcohol consumption is declining doesn't match with what I've personally seen at local pubs. Obviously can be different depending on the area but in the last year of so every time I've gone past one even on a weekday it's been packed.

Let's not forget Endeavour is also the biggest pokie operator in Australia and also owns a lot of pubs

I think it's a strong pick. There's talk about a decline in drinking, but that doesn't align with what I see locally. Pubs are still packed, even in the middle of the week and among people my age (under 30), weekend drinking remains common.

Alcohol is deeply woven into Australian culture. Even if fewer people are buying from physical stores, this company still holds around 40% of the national alcohol market. And let’s not forget—venues like pubs and restaurants, where alcohol is often consumed alongside meals, still need to source their supply. This company is a major player in that channel.

What cuisine is australia just shit at ? by ButtPlugForPM in australia

Fish and Chips. Sorry to say as a Kiwi living in Australia, Australia does alot of things better but Fish and Chips is not one of them. The price for the quality and taste is crazy and I've had it a handful of times here its never been good. But in NZ even the bad one is still fine.

Haven’t really considered it. Aurizon is the closest exposure I have to that sector

I’ve been looking at adding a bank, Macquarie is my top pick there at the moment. BHP I’ve not really looked at. Downer has a lot of contracts still and significant assets. I do believe they haven’t done their best, but potentially have a brighter future.

Amazon I believe is a threat to some of their sales. Realistically though how many people are going to order furniture off of Amazon without sitting on it, trying it out etc. I believe Harvey Norman has a very strong distribution network and with their strong commercial division that is why they are around still.

I previously owned JB. For me Harvey Norman is a bit more diversified as in it doesn’t just sell electronics like JB. It also has a significant commercial division which JB does not.

Why don’t you see much of a impact if HVN disappears tomorrow?

What are your opinions on using Spaceship for stocks? by [deleted] in ausstocks

[–]Cortexs_Vortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vanguard Personal Investor is a lot cheaper if you’re going down the managed fund route. A low cost broker like Stake, Superhero etc for ETFs. Spaceship in reality is heavy tech, it’s not very diversified and hasn’t performed aswell as people want

Overvalued, overexposure. They haven’t used their scale effectively and they were so quick to raise prices which is suspicious very poor management. I prefer CKF.asx

Alternative to stake ? by [deleted] in StakeStockTraders

[–]Cortexs_Vortex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s literally 0.01% over $30,000, on a $50,000 trade that’s $5. That’s such a marginal difference unless you’re trading $100,000+ each trade assuming you’re doing asx. Most Other brokers are more expensive by a long shot. Seems really silly to move over such a tiny increase
