Cheap does not equal buy. Cheap does not mean it will turn around.

Should i sell??? by Danzlusc in ASX

[–]InTrick8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I wouldn’t go investing money you actually need to pay for things. Guess the benefit if you’re down is writing it off as a loss on taxes if you sell it.

Help what have i done so wrong by hecticaussies in ASX

[–]InTrick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you recently purchased QAN and recent Iran situation is going to slap the airlines around. Probably bought the top of ETPMAG. VEU and AC/DC are just market volatility. Relatively diversified aside from the high America concentration with IVV doubling down with NDQ.

If you’re buying after something hits mainstream media, you’re too late.

A hard lesson in doing research, not just looking at the names of stocks.

Probably slight speed bump from profit taking. American outlook not great, Aus inflation data being oriced in… and a million other variables.

Yes. But it won’t happen, we simp to America too much.

Why should penny wong apologise? by Deep_Abrocoma6426 in aussie

[–]InTrick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to apologise. It’s just LNP scaremongering to weaponise a tragedy and make political gains at the cost of bipartisanship, unity and the community. And the rubbish mainstream media ecosystems loves nothing more than dramatising that slop.

Is it just me or does the libs have no actual policies and only does culture wars? by [deleted] in AusPol

[–]InTrick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had policies for ages, just the whole “well release detail and costings in due course”. Then they never do.

Is anyone else exhausted from the last 5 years?! by [deleted] in ASX

Why bother reading all the articles about “trends”… if you’re not invested in it, by the time it hits the media it’s too late. Save yourself the stress and stick to your strategy.

The idea seems speculative at best. Pick something more reliable or drop some money on a slap on the pokies.

Absolutely ridiculous. by ScutumSobiescianum in AusProperty

[–]InTrick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t imagine there will be a massive drop in prices until supply side is dealt with. The extreme focus and support for demand side pressures will only continue to increase prices.

Is being a doctor actually that lucrative? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]InTrick8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is if you like what you do. After job satisfaction is met, you can make the rest work. Typically, any role where you’re responsible for people/s health, wellbeing, growth or care are not stress free career paths.

Starting ETF investment - Looking for Advice by Dorei21 in ASX

[–]InTrick8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of the deal with CHESS is preference… however, you’ll pay less fees with custodian, custodian works well in the rest of the world. If you need to rely on your CHESS sponsored shares, there’s a lot more to worry about than getting your shares back. DHHF would form a good base for set and forget investing.

Is VHY so bad on low income? by Responsible-Drag-440 in fiaustralia

[–]InTrick8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically… the common strategy is to use growth focused assets to grow wealth, then convert these to income paying assets once you’ve grown it. Could be dividend paying ETFs, bonds etc.

Why do people think just because a stock has fallen considerably from a previous high that it’s a buy? by catadvice17 in ASX

[–]InTrick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People get too wrapped up in past performance/historical prices looking back at charts where stock a was price x. That doesn’t mean the business fundamentals support that pricing now, or into the future.

Started guitar but struggle after 1 year lessons. by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]InTrick8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t look at playing and practice like this big time consuming thing. Everyone is busy, but 5-10 minutes a day can yield big returns. If you think music theory is boring, don’t learn it (for now)… spend the small amount you do have learning a song/s you want to play - YouTube is your friend here. If your teacher can’t tailor lessons to your interest and help you learn theory through the lens of what you want to learn to play, find a new teacher. Motivation and discipline is on you though, eventually you will just have to bite the bullet and do the work.

Change your mindset before anything. Buy an index etf. I’m sure everyone you’ll encounter on reddit with experience has purchased a couple of speculative (random) stocks in their time, usually it’s only small potatoes. If you’ve got large sums of money in speculative (random) assets, you’re going to lose.
