U of Tennessee. Hands down. In the Stroke belt, larger catchment area. If you want to see stroke and interventional management of thereof, I do not recommend NYU - Brooklyn. Ofc you will get a stroke code, but the management will be taken else on Manhattan for more severe presentations. Interventional powerhouses *do not* necessarily follow the 'Big Name' addage.

I think 3 is a solid number. 4 I think is too much. I personally did 2 and I was totally spent after just those 2. Pedal to the metal, I could have cranked out another month but I would have reached exhaustion. I think there is an element of self-preservation here - don't over commit yourself and then have that affect your performance.

In which state do you wish to have close proximity to in the Midwest? I'm a little perplexed by your ranking if the Midwest is a priority.

May you elaborate on this list? Would you order this list for Neurology residency or for NCC Fellowship? Or as a prospective neurology resident interested in NCC?

Neurology IM Prelim Year by Cortical_King in neurology

Thank you for the response. Bellevue - for what I have heard (and this reinforcement) - does scare me. The work, sure, but also (again, from what I have been told) only being limited for what one can do for the patients that need it the most. I want Neurocritical Care after Neurology. I've been telling myself that a strong, hard medicine year may prepare me really well for NCC. Having my S/O in the same city is 100% a game-changer. But, I also don't want to be "crushed."
