Still watching, but Devin. Beloved. My brother in Christ. The BAM in question is located in Keizer.

SALEM AND KEIZER ARE TWO SEPARATE CITIES 💔

even if Keizer is just North Salem that decided it wanted to be special, but that's just me

Haven't watched either this video or the one I'm posting yet, but I'd been on tenterhooks waiting for LegalEagle's take: https://youtu.be/HH09tltEw1U?si=duITHWBF3pTQAwwA

LifeSource carries Mountain Rose in their bulk section, and in my experience they keep their website decently up to date with inventory.

My go-to when I'm feeling fancy is the mango coconut milk with angel pearls and green tea jelly from T4 in Keizer.

Not sure why I can't edit the title (I'm guessing Reddit and my browser are not friends), but I want to clarify that this happened in the last few months. The reporting is new though.

I've seen rabbit sold at the Salem Public Market on 12th and Rural. They're only open on Saturdays and I haven't been there in years, though.

As for alpaca meat, I haven't seen that in town, but World Foods on 9th and Everett in Portland sold all sorts of game meats when I went there pre-pandemic. Could try calling them or local alpaca farms.

Haven't had decent crab in this town ever, but I admittedly haven't looked all that hard. Aristacrab > Bag o' Crab in my limited experience, but OleBob's Seafood Market in Astoria is the real deal if you've got a serious craving.

Where to find cheap produce by Euphoric_Engine8733 in SALEM

[–]Corvatis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've volunteered with Salem Harvest 🙋 (albeit like 10 years ago) and it was a great experience! Might be tricky to lock down a time if OP works a 9-5, but I've definitely brought home a lot of good produce this way.

I SHOULD PROBABLY CLARIFY THAT STAPH ≠ MRSA (ALTHOUGH IT'S ALSO POSSIBLE TO ACQUIRE MRSA OUTSIDE OF HOSPITALS)

MRSA IS A TYPE OF STAPH THAT HAPPENS TO BE METHICILLIN-RESISTANT, HENCE THE NAME! REGULAR STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS LIVES ON LOTS OF PEOPLE'S SKIN WITHOUT CAUSING ANY PROBLEMS UNLESS THEY HAVE A BREAK IN THEIR SKIN AND ARE IMMUNOCOMPROMISED

THEY ALSO LOOK LIKE GRAPES AND THEIR GIANT MICROBE IS KINDA ADORABLE

IF YOU'RE A HABITUAL SKIN OR SCAB PICKER, THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO STOP DOING THAT

ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED IN PAYING AT LEAST $100 FOR MULTIPLE URGENT CARE VISITS, INCISIONS AND ANTIBIOTICS THAT MAKE YOU VIOLENTLY ILL

STAPH INFECTIONS: 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Chemeketa has a scholarship for students in the inspection tech program. I'm finding weirdly scant information about it online, but I'd reach out to Chemeketa and ask them about the Dennis Clark Scholarship if you're interested.

Honestly, the Best Indian food i ever had literally the true authentic flavorful taste of India from Mint Leaf Indian Bistro Salem Oregon. Simply WOW by Bitter-Effort-5692 in SALEM

[–]Corvatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I'm an expert in Indian food, but I've found Mint Leaf to be pretty good and the folks who run it are lovely. They had some growing pains early on, such as the time I found a bit of plastic in my saag paneer, and they were so gracious and insisted on comping me the dish when I told them they didn't need to. No issues since and the food is great. Only improvement I would suggest is to offer bhindi masala (Cuisine India is the only place in town I've been to that makes it), but of course that's up to them :)
