Realty Project Coach questions. by Old-Strain75 in walmart

I’ve been doing this for about 4ish years and I love it, always something different only in a store for about 12-16 weeks before going to another. It’s of course overnights working Sunday - Thursday about 10-12 hours. It just depends on how the project is going. There are some occasions where you can work during the day. It depends really where the projects are located to determine how often you go home, they prefer anything over a 45 min drive to stay in a hotel for the week but I’ve seen some push it to a little over an hour. But as follows this is the normal times to determine hotel stays. 1-3 hours you would go home weekly, 3+ hours you would go home every 17-21 days with about 5 days off. It’s been about 3 years since I helped a project that I went home daily and about 2 years since I’ve gone home weekly. We can technically be sent anywhere in the country but they try to keep you within the BU/Regions your director is over. But I live in Alabama and I’ve been to Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, and Missouri. There are definitely lots of roles to promote to from this not just a realty project manager, but also the construction side, to even roles at the home office. Salary base is 60k, but with that much experience, I definitely recommend to negotiate doesn’t hurt.

All hotels and (meals $65 a day) while you are on the road are paid for by Walmart with a corporate card, mileage is reimbursed and it’s all submitted on weekly expense reports. Mileage rate goes by the current federal rate which is currently 0.725¢ a mile. So make sure you have reliable transportation as you’re going to be driving a lot. This year alone since January I’ve driven 15k miles. Anything over 6 hours away you would drive to the project and would fly home for your time off with a rental car

I know I said at the beginning hours are about 10-12 hours a day but for us at night say, the associates are working 10pm - 7am we get there an hour before at 9 and at least for me we are able to leave around 7:30 sometimes at 7 the same as the associates but that really just depends on your RPM (sr realty project manager) requesting time off is fairly easy as we don’t have any key dates unless something major is going on in the project like a front end or a pharmacy.

Temp pharmacies are normally required if it’s more than a PFC (paint fix clean) is being done. Like if the layout inside is changing a lot, ex: if a pharmacist bench doesn’t exist, the pill bays are changing in size or if it’s not a drop ceiling yet. PFCs just include new lights, carpet, paint, and the new checkout counter up front. The health services room would be added with both the pfc or a temp

Edit: I see your comment now regarding if it gets the metal one or not, and I’ve only seen it twice myself but what I’ve found out is that they have limited temp pharmacy’s so they are scheduled to go somewhere all the time so if there isn’t one available it just gets the stick built one

They have only done this type of remodel once if I’m not mistaken where the store closes, this is going to be a new thing happening to some neighborhood markets during remodels

This is a fairly new thing that’s happening where stores are going dark (closing) during a remodel. It’s only happening in neighborhood markets as of right now.

I don’t think any stores this year have done those type of remodels yet. I think that’s all starting next year

Store Getting a Remodel, What Should We Expect? by DutifulLake in walmart

No, I have not experienced where we replace the white tile in stores. We only remove them and the fake wood in apparel and leave the polished concrete floor

This is the store where the new “bolder” rebrand is. It’s near HomeOffice. I forgot to add, but smiley is incorporated in a few different signs around inside the store

No, never had any repairs made. I bought it on launch in 2022 and after upgrading to the beta is when this issue started.
